WINE SAFARI AND FOREST FEAST - NEW DATES ADDED

We’re excited to be able to offer two additional dates for our popular Wine Safari and Forest Feast:

Friday 30 August
Friday 6 September

Join us for a Scottish culinary journey that will take you from source to supper, heroing the very best that Fife has to offer.

Everyone will meet at the Rhynd Cafe at 4pm before taking an off-road shuttle into the woods. Over a one-kilometre walk, we’ll taste Peter Crawford’s cider and champagne selection, as well as canapés made by The Rhynd’s chef Jack Baldwin who has worked at a Michelin-starred level.

Dinner will be served at the chef’s table under a stretch tent, when Jack will talk through where all the ingredients have been sourced, and how he’s cooked over the open Argentinian grill. The five-course menu will hero local produce and include venison, eggs, vegetables and herbs from the farm.

The evening will end by the open fire with petit fours and night caps, before returning to The Rhynd between 9.30 and 10pm.

The last two dates sold out quickly so book now to make sure you don’t miss out!👇

Love was in the air at The Rhynd last weekend when Jayne and Drew made their way to us after their church ceremony in Dundee.

They opted for round tables with crisp white tablecloths and chairs, accented with vibrant pops of color from table candles and fresh flowers.

Music was a major theme, with table signs named after gigs they’d attended together, complete with photos and meaningful lyrics on the flip side.

Dancefloor rules encouraged everyone to let loose and have fun with a sweet table and crisp wall ensuring their guests were kept well fuelled throughout the evening!

We wish them both the biggest congratulations! 🥂

We are delighted that Colin Millar will be coming to the next Bacon and Brakes event on Sunday 4th August with his Flyin’ Fyfer. Colin is a local legend when it comes to drag racing and he has recently dipped into the six-second bracket for the standing quarter of a mile. An extraordinary achievement, which has him knocking on 200mph in just 6.9 seconds. Some vital statistics… The car accelerates to 60mph in 0.8 seconds and packs a serious punch – the normally aspirated engine produces 1250bhp, but the addition of Nitrous takes that up to 2050bhp! “She takes a bit of handling,” Colin admits.

Colin is going to start the car up for everyone at 11am so don’t miss it and bring some ear plugs!

Enjoy it with a poached egg, bacon or hash browns alongside some freshly picked herbs from the Rhynd garden.

Pop in and try it soon! We’re open between 9am and 5pm, from Friday through to Sunday. Tap the link below to book your table in advance.👇

Happy first anniversary to Aoife and Steven!

Aoife’s day started in the Rhynd Farmhouse before she stepped through the gate to meet Steven in the garden for their ceremony.

Afterwards, they made the most of the surrounding fields for their couples portraits before heading back to the barn to continue their celebrations.

Here’s to many more years of happiness and cherished memories! 🤍🥂

Guests on our upcoming Forest Feast and Wine Safari will have the opportunity to taste Peter Crawford’s Naughton Cider and Sip Champagne.

Started in 2019, Naughton Cider Company was formed with the sole focus of creating the very best traditional method cider using apples from the historical orchards of Naughton by Newport-on-Tay. They vinify in oak barrels, previously used to make champagne, and use champagne yeasts for primary and secondary fermentations. The cider stays a minimum of two years on lees before being disgorged by hand. They work with over 100 apple varieties, many of which are historic Scottish apples.

Sip Champagnes was formed with the objective of opening up the world of champagne. Working with over 50 producers from across the region, they focus on the producers who own their own vines and make their wines (as opposed to negociants such as Moët et Chandon that buys the grapes in). This allows them to truly celebrate and explore the incredible history and terroir of the region and deliver on the fantastic individual approaches that each winemaker brings to their wines.

Peter has over 20 years’ experience in the world of champagne. He’s visited the region over 100 times, met over 1000 different producers, and tasted well in excess of 20,000 different wines! Although his passion started with the big names, specifically their vintage wines, his focus these days is on the 2500 smaller producers that are able to express their style and terroir with more focus.

We loved hosting the beautiful wedding of Olivia and Lee a couple of weeks ago.

They enjoyed sunshine for their outdoor ceremony and drinks reception before moving inside to continue their celebrations.

Olivia got creative with their decor making all the table settings, table numbers, menus and small signs herself. She also designed the large seating plan and welcome signs, printing them at the DJCAD print unit (a great option for any future couples who are looking to design and print their own signage)!

BeewildBlooms pulled everything together with lots of decorative touches and summer florals.

Congratulations to them both! 🤍

A rather delayed review of this month’s Bacon and Brakes… We’re sorry this is a little late, but Ed and Lisa went into hospital three hours before the event started and, 24 hours later, Olivia Foster arrived! They’re all doing well and hopefully they will all be at the August event.

Despite rain before and after, the sun shone down on this month’s Bacon and Brakes, and Guy and Jamie McKenzie very kindly stepped in to judge Best in Show, alongside Clarinda and Alice Foster. Thankfully, the twins resisted giving the prize to their ‘not quite perfect’ Land Rover.

Best in Show went to Dundee Transport Museum’s trustee Graeme Keillor for his 1986 Mini Piccadilly. One of only 50 still registered (of 2000), the car is immaculate and has only covered 27,000 miles from new. Alice has always been a huge Mini fan (after owning a Mayfair at university) so we weren’t surprised when news came through of the winner!

Special mention medals went to Colin Divitt’s Jaguar C-type, John Beet’s Kenny Robert’s Yamaha XSR900, Jordan Mitchell’s M reg Land Rover Defender and Nick Gulod’s Bentley.

Thank you so much for all coming, and we’ll hopefully see you next month when the grass autotest is back! Not only that, but we have some very exciting cars coming up from England. We’ll give more details soon, but they’re both record breakers.

An amazing DIY set up, they decorated the space themselves with the help of their family and friends. The bride’s mum went above and beyond, filling the venue with beautiful flower arrangements and foliage.
