Good Evening Everybody,

As Chairman of St Andrews United FC, I am delighted to announce our new management team. Indeed, I am very pleased to say that Garry Wright has agreed to become our new Head Coach. Of course, Garry needs little introduction to our fanbase since he has most recently been St Andrews United's Assistant Manager. Garry initially joined Saints as a coach in August 2021 and I had no hesitation in approaching him to be the replacement for Steven Fallon in December 2022. Garry is an exceptionally talented coach who is very well respected by the players. He has shown great loyalty to me and the club over many years, going back to his days as a player at The Rec under Pete Hutton, and he is a very shrewd tactician. Garry consequently works as a full-time coach with the Dunfermline Athletic Community Club and he earned his UEFA B licence in June 2021, having begun his coaching journey with the SFA in 2009. The 44-year old enjoyed a long playing career that involved spells at Rosyth, Oakley United and Saints and he gives a great amount of thought towards his training methods and routines. Garry also takes a keen interest in youth development as a result of his day job and he regularly attended our Under 20's fixtures last season. As such, Garry is well acquainted with the current squad and he has developed a strong and professional working relationship with the Committee. I therefore hope that you will join me in congratulating Garry on his new appointment and I am confident that you will provide him and his players with a suitable level of support next term.

I am also extremely pleased to announce that Stevie Kay is joining St Andrews United as the club's new Assistant Head Coach. Stevie has been linked with a move to The Clayton Caravan Park Recreation Ground in the past and I am delighted that he is now on board. Stevie began his career in coaching as player/manager of Fife Amateur Cup finalists Burntisland Shipyard before winning the Central League title whilst in charge of Oakley United. Kay subsequently helped Oakley to finish fifth in the Premier League prior to managing Ballingry Rovers then becoming Assistant Manager at Kelty Hearts under Tam Courts. The experienced campaigners therefore won the Super League title at New Central Park yet Stevie returned to management with Dundonald Bluebell in the summer of 2016 as a replacement for Craig Morrison. Kay thus helped the men from Moorside Park to finish sixth then fourth in the Super League before turning around the fortunes of struggling Glenrothes and Tayport, where he was successor to Charlie King. Unfortunately, Stevie was forced to step down from his role at The Canniepairt due to a promotion at work in June 2019 but he has since kept involved in football by coaching with Fife Elite plus the Pars Academy. The 55-year old is a top-quality coach who first earned his SFA C Licence in 1996 and he is currently close to completing his UEFA C Licence. Kay is driven to help players achieve their potential by elevating their levels of fitness and technique, whilst fostering a positive team environment. Stevie also possesses child wellbeing, mental health and sports first aid qualifications and he can't wait to get started in his new role at The Rec. Again, I am sure that you will join me in wishing our new Assistant Head Coach all the very best as a member of our team.

Lastly, I'm excited to announce that Paul Farningham is being promoted from our Under 20's Assistant Coach to the role of Football Analyst. I brought Paul to The Rec 18 months ago and he was part of an exceptionally strong Under 20's set-up last season, which culminated with that thrilling Development League Cup Final victory over Haddington Athletic. I can confirm that we will not be entering a team into the Development League next term but several members of that squad will still be contracted to St Andrews United. Farningham will therefore concentrate upon gathering and collating data from our new player monitoring systems and he will work closely with Garry, Stevie and the squad. Paul will also be part of the coaching team on the training pitch and he will be an essential part of our match-day operations. With a strong coaching team now in place, we will fully focus upon player recruitment over the course of the next few weeks and we will keep you posted on new signings when they occur.
