BUSINESSES ARE STRUGGLING IN NORTON

Our businesses, particularly those on Harland Place are simply struggling due to the ongoing works and disruption on Harland Place.

The Takeaway Shops relied on passing trade from the pubs, people are not even venturing down Harland Place. The pubs and Restaurants themselves are seeing a down turn in trade as people think they are unable to access them.

Not to mention the independent hairdressers, shops and other such businesses which have noticed a decline in passing trade.

Stockton Councils representative visited businesses today to inform them this is going on until end of April at Harland Place, but that the full project is now put back until October. When asked about compensation they tell business owners “You never know what you will find when digging”

Our businesses need you to still visit! All this “it’s good for Norton” is great. But right now our businesses might not be here by October to see the redevelopment!
