The Starbots Creative team will be digging out their walking boots for an 18-mile stint along the Caldon Canal from Froghall Wharf to Etruria on Saturday 9th November 2024.
Our goal is to raise £1,000 for Shropshire • Staffordshire • Cheshire Blood Bikes – an urgent volunteer service providing transportation of blood products, free of charge, to all NHS hospitals across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire.
Liz Salmon, mum of our Directors Kate and Emma, managed our company accounts until very recently and also volunteers for Blood Bikes in her own time. So, we thought it was fitting to support a cause so close to her heart, as the charity celebrates its 10th year.

Last week, we headed to the Birmingham Design Festival for a day full of inspiration💡👩🏼💻🤩
Our favourite talk was led by Elizabeth Goodspeed who showed how design from previous decades can inform and elevate our designs in the modern world 💭
It was also great to hear the shared challenges designers are encountering when futureproofing brands.
We love the insights coming from the design community. It was such a collaborative event with so many resources being shared between creatives 🤝

MISSION COMPLETE 🚀
Working with Appetite and partners, we crafted a unique, recognisable brand for the new REMIX event, including logo and poster design to capture the attention of 13-25 year olds 🎮
As a co-created programme of creative, digital and playable experimentation in the city centre, we positioned the logo as a ‘take-over’ – imagining REMIX as a digital broadcast sent out to young people, calling them to join this mission.
A glitch effect was incorporated into the logo, along with a bright colour palette and modern typeface. To complement the brand mark, we selected an 8-bit typeface for the body copy, reinforcing the digital & retro tone of voice which underpins REMIX.

The event is running this Thursday 30th May – Saturday 1st June in & around The Potteries Centre in Hanley 👋🏼

Yesterday we led a creative session with aspiring young creatives from the local area, in collaboration with Claybody Theatre & Framescape 🤝
Contributing to Claybody’s Live broadcast to bring in the 2025 New Year – The Hootenana Programme – we supported the group of creatives in crafting moodboards and stylescapes to inform assets that will dovetail with the broadcast 🌟
Well done to Sylvina Johnson & Lewis Goldstraw for delivering the session and thank you to Daniel Waterman, Gary Carse & Conrad Nelson for involving us in such a great initiative & making us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to see the finished product 👏🏼
