A votive candle or a wax melt? Which one would you choose?

Both are ideal for trying new fragrances in your home.🕯️

Votive candles are perfect for fragrance layering (burning multiple candles at once) and sit so pretty on a console table or as part of a centrepiece. 🕯️

They are also long lasting - giving around 15-18 hours of burn time and will fill your room with a natural, non artificial fragrance.🕯️

Wax melts are flame free and have a slightly higher fragrance concentration for those who prefer a stronger fragrance. They are also long lasting with one cube giving around 8 hours of burn time. 🤍

We had a very busy 3 days at Glamis Castle Winter Fayre and almost sold out of our wax burners and melts! 🕯️

We all love that moment when we pop a fragrant wax melt into the burner or light that candle and the heavenly aroma starts to fill our home. But like us, if you share your living space with a fur baby, you've maybe found yourself pausing and wondering are these scented products safe for my pet?

When we became pet parents back in 2019 we found ourselves facing the same concern after noticing our frenchie Nina was suffering from allergic reactions in the evenings. Through trial and error we finally had it confirmed from our vet that the main cause was sadly the type of strongly scented products that we were using in our home. It really opened our eyes to how harmful fragranced products can be, not just for our fur babies but for us humans too!

We straight away binned all the scented products we were using in our home at the time and obsessed over what scented candles on the market were deemed 'safe'. After doing lots of research and study into what actually makes a product toxic, we decided to make our own scented products from scratch so we knew exactly what was going into them. By April 2020, Sofasoy Candle Co. was born.
