🚨⚽ SHOUT OUT to volunteer for the club. Angela Kirtley from PR/SM sports massage has again agreed to stay with us for her 3rd season and help the lads out whenever needed for pre/post match massages to get those aching muscles sorted. Wether its 1 session needed or multiple sessions needed throughout the season it's a massive help and it's very much appreciated by all of us here.

⚽NEXT WEEK(21st) we have been drawn away in the last 16 of the county cup. The veterans breakfast is happening again at Houghton Rugby Club.

Serving members and veterans of the Armed forces and Emergency services are invited and most welcome.

A friendly space to have a quiet breakfast by yourself or to interact with a good bunch of people. The choice is very much yours.

£4.50 for a lovely breakfast and a brew.

It’s only our third ever event but it is firmly set as the last Saturday of every month.

The charity club have started with a bang raising over £1000 already! Amazing stuff.

I wanted to do it in under 2.5 hours but, this'll do for me. It was incredibly hot and I had to slow to a walk a couple of times just to stop myself from passing out! Today's recovery plan includes yoga stretches ( Netflix Nike classes are brill), water, food and SLEEP!

This Saturday August 26th we will be again hosting the veterans breakfast club.

The inaugural event in July was a great success.

The club is opening its doors for friendship, removing social isolation,great food in great surroundings.

The breakfast club is open to anyone.We are all there for each other.Whether that is a chat,new friendship, rekindle old friendships etc.

Lovely surprise to see this face pop up from a previous life as a pub landlady 🤗

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣

Due to the huge success of Women’s and Men’s rugby at Houghton Rugby Club this season, it is with great pleasure that we announce that Ryan Pink (Current Senior Men’s Head Coach) has agreed to take on a wider role as Club Coach at Houghton Rugby Club with immediate effect.

Within his new role Ryan will focus on growing the senior sections and working with the senior coaching teams to further develop our rugby offering for all senior players.

His immediate focus off the back of his success coaching Durham County Women to the national semi-finals will be to help our senior women’s coaches further develop our strong and growing women’s section.

We thank Ryan for his hard work and commitment in helping us gain league promotion for our senior men and wish him every success in his wider club role.

This leaves us with two exciting key vacancies in our senior men’s coaching section and we are looking for applications for a senior men’s head coach and for a specialist senior men’s forwards coach, coaching and developing our two senior men’s team who now play in Level 8 Durham & Northumberland Counties division 2.

Now that my Great North Run training is getting a bit more serious, it's reminded me how much of a toll it can take ! Especially on little legs like mine 🥵 (that have a chemical make up of 80% wine/crisps...😬)

After a pitch inspection this morning, it will come as no surprise that the pitch is frozen and therefore unplayable. This means the Boars game against Darlington is off.

Don't forget though that England play tonight against France in the quarter finals of the World Cup in a 7pm kick off.
