Wearside Youth for Christ

American mission team that came to work with calvary christian fellowship in silksworth. Lessons at venerable bede on the bible plus every afternoon doing lessons at silksworth academy.

Month of September done. Schedule all organised for the term. Lessons begun in Thornhill, Washington, Broadway Juniors. Looking forward to an American Mission team next week! Here’s a couple of pictures of Andy and Louise on a YFC retreat at the start of September and Thomas Hirst’s last day with us at Wearside Youth For Christ, they were delivering lessons at Washington Acedemy that day!

Great few weeks delivering prayer space activities and now spending the day in Hylton Castle Primary with the Message Trust Bus and the guts from Hylton Castle Mission. Thanks to all our amazing helpers

First week of our summer prayer spaces on the early Church. We've been to Barnwell Primary, Northern Saints, Barnes Juniors and St Pauls Primary. Big thankyou to all our volunteers

It's been a great week for us as a team. Working with in 11 different schools. Our American mission team was teaching volleyball and sharing the Gospel in 3 schools with Louise and St John's evangelical Church Shiney Row. Andy was helping Silksworth IM church run The Bible Comes Alive for 3 days teaching 3 different schools. Plus RE lessons in 3 other schools and an afterschool club and a primary assembly. We rounded off the week with another Youth Gathering too.

Hi All. As you know through the month of April we completed our swimathon. Thanks to our amazing team and to all of you incredible givers we have raised so far an incredible £2357.81. I'm personally so blessed to be sharing the journey of kingdom building with you. If you don't get regular news of what we do please go to our website to sign up.

Last week we were able to deliver RE lessons in 4 schools on life after death, baptism, worship, Christian marriage and the Gospel being good news. Plus a wellkidz session and 2 prayer space sessions and 3 assemblies. Big thanks to John Kirby, Rob Cooper from Hope Family Church and to Thomas Hirst for your help. Thomas used to be a student at Venerable Bede and now he volunteers a day and a half each week whilst studying at college

Hi all. So the moment has come to reveal how many lengths our team completed during the month of April for our Swimathon. Our original target was 2700 lengths 42 miles. Twice across the channel. We've swum 4,413 lengths which is three times across the channel and a little bit!! Congratulations to Alice ( Dawn Laverick )with a guess of 4560 who was closest. Also to Tracy Potts who was second and Jane Duncan third. Well done to Rachel Wilson and Libby ( Beth Adamkiewicz)for 4th and 5th. Your prizes will be delivered! Thanks to all for your guesses.

It's the final day of our swimathon and we will be at the aquatic centre from 1.30pm. If you would like to come and support or even swim a few lengths to add to our final total that would be amazing. Thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far. Can you guess how many we will end up swimming in total? Prize up for grabs to the closest guess.
