We meet every Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 2pm at penllagare valley woods (top entrance by lezzets cafe) just off J47 M4.
Our Men's Sheds group is an ideal place for Men within the community to get together build friendships and share skills in a safe & friendly environment, Our aim is to prevent loneliness and social isolation with in our community Our aim is to tackle isolation and loneliness within our community. Our goal is to provide a safe and friendly environment for friendships to be made and flourish within
Fantastic day had by all, everyone a little nervous to start with but great to see that by lunch people where chatting together out in the open in the π
After lunch we started learning all about sharpening and some knife skills

We would like to say a huge thank you to Asda Gorseinon and their community champion Jane for their kind donation of brew kit and biscuits, a great surprise for the lads π
We made the most of the nice weather this week by getting our cabin painted with ronseal so thats now protected from the weather for the next 4 to 5 years. Also we been making boot pulls planters and squirrel feeders and trying our hardest not to let things scorch in our polly tunnel

Its been a good week in the nest busy restoring a bridge for a lovely lady call Ann her husband had passed this year and the bridge was starting to decay so we have replaced all the slats posts and hand rail that was rotting and next we painting it in medium oak we have also repaired the hare and repainted it ready to go back on the bridge
Also Mike's been busy building planters Glynn been busy with a new idea will show more when completed
It was lovely to see Aaron at the shed today and have a catch up
Yesterday we finished our heritage crafts Green woodworking course with Rhaw and Swansea Lifelong Learning this was our second year we run the course. Its been a fantastic way to finish the week. It's been an absolute pleasure to teach alongside Stuart Mackinnon during these courses.
So yesterday we celebrated our last day with a bit of a cook out, it was stunning food with stunning weather and beautiful people
Happiness is making beautiful chairs with great people in the woods. Our stick chair is nearly finished and itβs a corker. Just look at the pride on those faces!! π A truly fantastic Friday. More pics next Friday when weβve completed the finishing touches. π

Been a very productive day in the shed finished stocking our local farm shop and I can say its definitely warm work in the polly tunnel today got to 27oC π₯΅ and today some of us spent the day thining out our seeds and replanting the thinned out ones into other trays
Been a busy couple weeks getting our growing medium right for our seed and also wee been building stuff to stock up the farm shop
Fantastic session today, great progress being made with the stick back chair, it's so exciting to see the chair come together. Enjoy your Easter brake and we look forward to welcoming you back in 3 weeks time

Eagles Nest
We are a self funded organisation for men of all backgrounds to meet up once a week for a few hours, a place to meet and chat over a cuppa, plan group activities or projects within Eagles Nest or in the community, such as Garden projects Woodworking projects Model making Fishing trips or anything else you would like to do as a group or by yourself in a safe and friendly environment.
We used occupy the grounds at Blaenymaes Drop in centre as our and it was our first successful project that we completed for community use, We created an allotment area in the rear garden of the drop in centre, made fencing from pallets,bird boxes and raised planter boxes. we also made a disabled ramp so the space could be used for everyone and laid wooden decking out the back too which was great to see the community use.
We like to volunteer our services in anyway we can to any other community projects to help with things such as any DIY tasks around the place inside and out. or creating usable friendly spaces.
We have also set up with the help of the national lottery a Menβs mental health group called Chatterbox in partnership with Jack 2 a King gym in Fforestfach Swansea With a qualified councillor offering one to one help if required ,the first hour is talking and then the second hour we train on the punchbags at your own pace meaning free to have a breather if needed
