We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

We have riders from a huge range of packs ranging from the Sinnginton and Dartmoor to more local packs, Avon Vale, North Cotswold and Heythrop.

Gates open at 10am and there will be an entrance charge of £10 per car.

The Gate Jumping competition will start at 10.30am.

The hunt ride will start at 12 noon and horses will be in the paddock at 11:30am. The hound racing will follow.

There will be a hog roast, licenced bar and we have selection of trade stands including Dampney's Remarkable Drinks Lancombes Country Sports LeadingDog Limited and Team Equestrian

The postcode is SN5 4JE and the event will be signposted from the main road. If coming from the Cricklade, please do not enter Purton Stoke by the Bell Inn but follow the sign posts.

Please note that the only car parking available is in a field. Please do not park around the village as the lanes are narrow.

The course is looking fantastic, there will be a small jump added in the gap at 13, the cows will be removed from the fields 🐮and all internal gates will be open.

Final trim on the hedges, they look fantastic. We can’t wait for the 6th November.

With the recent heavy rainfall and what is predicted in the next weeks we’d expect the ground to be good, good/soft in places!

VWH Hunt raises over £3,000 for Ukraine


A magnificent effort by the VWH at their closing meet on Saturday 2nd April, where a collection was made in aid of the DEC Ukraine Appeal. All the field and cap money, as well as other donations amounted to over £3,000.

A member of the VWH Hunt said: “We are incredibly lucky to be gathered with friends and family, when in other places across the world there is sadness and devastation. We have been heartened by the generosity of our followers and also the members of the public who were
present at the meet today. We really appreciate the efforts of all those who have got involved and we thank all those that have donated.‭”‬

“The response to this crisis from the hunting community as a whole has been phenomenal, with the supporters of the VWH ‭Hunt being incredibly generous,” enthused Polly Portwin, the ‬Director of the Campaign for Hunting at the Countryside Alliance. “Hunts ‭across the country are ‬
using their wide networks to not only raise funds but to also drive vehicles containing donated and much-needed items to deliver them to where they can be distributed. The hunting
community really does show its strengths in a time of ‭crisis.”‬

Congratulations to for winning today especially from this position over the last!

It was a course that tested both horse and rider. We are pleased to report all horses and riders that started returned safely despite a number of fallers.

Lots of learning points and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2022!
