This afternoon staff from Maitland Walker donated some time to carry out a beach clean at Minehead Beach. ⛱️

Despite a fairly heavy shower, we managed to remove a substantial amount of plastic, wrappers, cans and bottles that had been left on the beach and seafront.

We are pleased to be able to give back to the local community and help keep our beaches clean.

Phoebe Parr, legal support assistant in our Taunton office, is embarking on what will no doubt be a very rewarding, volunteering experience in Tanzania! 🇹🇿

Phoebe will be volunteering in childcare centres and nurseries in September and is fundraising to cover the cost of her travel expenses and accommodation while she is there.

Maitland Walker’s competition law team act for the class of writer members in a collective action which has been launched against the Performing Rights Society (“PRS”). David Rowntree, professional musician, writer, broadcaster and politician; perhaps best known for being the drummer for the pop band, Blur is acting as proposed class representative.

The claim launched is in relation to unallocated royalties colloquially called ‘Black Box’ royalties.

The claim is expected to be worth hundreds of millions of pounds and will likely be heard in 2027 unless PRS settles before then.
