Whilst we mostly focus on the waters, today we look to the sky and wish our contractor Duncan Sharp a safe flight ahead of his 200km hike-and-fly paragliding competition!

After squeezing in a quick nearshore job for us (thank you!), he’s now had a couple days to rest and prep for the competition in Switzerland. As Duncan modestly puts it ‘some elite level pros do it, so I'm going to be right at the back working out what to do!’. We have full confidence in you Duncan and wish you all the best.

Never one to turn down a catch up with contractors, Brad was more than willing to spare a few hours of his holiday in Barbados to share a rum in the sun with Philmore Sydney! What a great host in a beautiful place. 🏝

✨ As we near Christmas, we come to the end of this Campaign. The final act of kindness in this series of ours is a big one for many reasons.

💰 Our final monetary donation is £2,000 and has been sent to the Beacon Centre, Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton (Love Musgrove). This cancer treatment centre, for better or worse, has been a part of almost everyone’s lives here in the CMSourcing head office, and it’s where the campaign began and where we wanted it to end.

🔹 The driving force behind all the acts of kindness this past month has been Molly Redstone. Molly’s Auntie Detta sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this year and it was the Beacon Centre who provided her excellent care. But Molly saw an opportunity of hope, a way she could provide a light in the darkness of the family’s grief. She wanted to spread kindness in the face of so much negativity in the world. So, she floated the idea by Mike and Dave Cullen, and it was an immediate ‘yes’. And so, with the full support and backing from CMSourcing the planning began.

💕 Molly’s Auntie didn’t make it to see this campaign unfold, but with care and treatment at the Beacon Centre, Molly’s Mum was able to beat her cancer diagnosis and see the difference her daughter has made. We hope, passionately, that there are many more survivor stories like this in the future as the centre develops their testing, treatment and care even further with donations like ours. For now though, all we can say to everyone there is thank you, thank you for your kindness and ever growing support.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind, always.

✨ Christmas might not always be the big gathering of friends and family that are captured in the tv ads. Or maybe, a gap in finances has put a halt to that Christmas feast. Wellsprings Community Church don’t want to see any one alone or struggling to make ends meet on this day of the year, on indeed any day.

⛪ This year, like every year, Rev Tiff and his team open the church doors on Christmas Day and welcome all. A warm welcome will greet everyone, as it did us when we met, and a hearty lunch complete with gifts and crackers is provided for everyone.

🎄 A staggering 70 people are already expected to attend on Christmas Day so we were so glad we could provide some crackers and Morrisons gift vouchers to distribute and help everyone out on Christmas day and beyond.

✨ This week Kelly and Rachel went to Taunton Open Door with a bag of donations. This wonderful organisation are helping to tackle rough sleeping and rebuild lives.

🌘 Any day on the streets is a difficult day. But the dark and cold winter months can certainly be the hardest, both physically and mentally. So we thought waterproof and warm clothing is an absolute necessity, not a luxury to hold.

🚪 Open Door provide a safe, warm space for vulnerable people and then implement tailored support plans to build individuals self-esteem back up. After a chance to use the facilities, including a hot shower, individuals can use the clothing store – which is what this was restocking. We want to thank everyone there, a wonderful space, Merry Christmas.

✨ Last week, when the sky was a little clearer, some of the CMSourcing team took to the beach... to clean up! is also about time, time out of our days to protect our wildlife and oceans.

🌊 In just a couple of hours on this small stretch of coast we collected 3 bin bags and as much other debris as we could carry. Much of the rubbish was plastic and would have caused serious harm to wildlife if washed back out to sea or left on the shores.

♻ On the day others seemed inspired too as they joined in along the way. If you head down to the coast, let us know if you feel inspired too using .

✨ Our campaign continued when Brad & Gary took a very special delivery to the Children’s Ward at Musgrove Park Hospital, in conjunction with Love Musgrove.

🔷 The wonderful NHS staff do an incredible job at keeping everyone on the ward comfortable and cared for, but a little something new to play with is never a bad idea.

🎅 Family is so important to everyone here at CMSourcing so anything we can provide to put a smile on a face is worth doing. For a young person especially, this might be a pretty scary or unsettling time and not the magical Christmas they deserve as children. These gifts might not change where they are, but hopefully they provide a welcome distraction and some joy over the festive period.

✨ Any local shoppers receive a pleasant surprise when they returned to their cars this weekend? You may have even caught an elf in the act during their on Saturday!

🍭 Hopefully everyone that received a little sweet treat enjoyed the surprise and an afternoon pick me up!

✨We aren’t forgetting our furry friends in our campaign either. Last week some of the team dropped a large package of food, treats and bedding to St Giles Animal Rescue Centre.

🐶 This time of year can be a struggle for many, and more animals may arrive over the next few months, or perhaps the ones in the shelter may not be finding their forever home just yet. So, whilst they are in St Giles’ care, we wanted to make it comfortable.

✨As first responders, the crew at the South West Ambulance Service don’t have a lot of time to sit down for a cuppa and a biscuit. Hopefully the hamper we dropped by will go some way to encourage a moments peace and rest though.

🎂 It’s not a lot; but thank you. Deeply. Every single one of us has had some personal experience with the local ambulance crew, for ourselves or members of our family. You have always responded with empathy and respect. So, cheers to you and Merry Christmas.

✨ Today our pledge reaches further than our local community as we send our support to the WWF UK.

🐢 We adopted a turtle!! We hope our donation will contribute to the amazing work this organisation already does in protecting these majestic animals and their habitats.

🌊 Our oceans are integral to our work and our passion is deeply rooted within them. Keeping them clean and our marine life safe will always top our priority list.

✨ Our campaign continues with a donation to the Taunton Foodbank.

🍏 Kayleigh shopped with essentials in mind, and multiplied that by 4, so we really hope it can help several individuals or families who are otherwise struggling. No one should be without the means to a meal.

🍬 We also recognise the need for a little treat, especially with these long nights and rainy days, so we’ve thrown in a couple of Christmas choccies to enjoy too!

✨Lets begin, lets spread some one gift at a time.

🎄 Many of us here have some cherished Christmas memory around festive chocolates, it’s a rite of passage for most, but not all. When Office Angels Taunton told us about their pledge to get 100 advent calendars and selection boxes to local children who might not have had one this year, we couldn’t let it go. We had to help!

🍫 We really hope every child can create a little memory from a little magic this Christmas.

✨As we inch towards Christmas this year, we are aiming to give a little extra.

🎄 With that in mind, for the duration of December, we will be springing some ‘random acts of ’ on our local area. The benefits of adding an action to ‘kindness’, we hope, can be widespread and can provide a very practical and tangible help to some.
