Taunton Tennis Club Singles Tournament Draw 2021 has been announced!

Tennis Tots for Pre School children has started at Taunton Tennis Centre. A new 4 week course is available on a Saturday at 10.10am. Spaces also available on a Tuesday at 4pm, Wednesday at 2pm and Thursday at 9.15am. Thanks to the nice weather and excellent organisation by Oli Knowles, we had a truly enjoyable club tournament yesterday.

After many competitive sets of tennis, Robyn Edwards and Ollie Honey won the mixed doubles tournament, Connie Cox and Emily Day won the ladies’ doubles tournament, and Olli Honey and Shingo Yamada won the men’s doubles tournament.

Please come and support our annual club tournament at Taunton Tennis club. Our aim is that this will be a fun but competitive end to our summer season. It’s a chance for players from all our teams and sessions to get together and enjoy some tennis.

Taunton Ladies beat East Glos ladies today in the O40 Inter Club Doubles, by 2 games after they drew 2 rubbers all.
Well done, ladies! Fantastic win!

Good game again for the Y&D men last night away at Weymouth. The team won 8-2 against a strong side.

Players were Oli Knowles, Ed Coombe, Daren Carter and Shingo Yamada.

Battled hard on a particularly hot day against Minehead, which was a good side, in the LTA National League (at local level).

Although we lost 1-5, we had a great time playing good competitive tennis.

Players for Taunton men’s team were Nick Constant, Daren Carter, David Walter and Shingo Yamada from the left on the photo.

Another nice win for the Y&D men last night (against Wincanton B). Ollie H. and Glenn won both their matches and Shingo and Oli K. battled to win an important set to make it 5-4, so 7 points won.

Fun Tennis Tournament, an ideal introduction for junior tennis players to competitive tennis. Open to players aged 5 and over.

Another good win for the Y&D men last night. 10-1 away at Sherborne on the red stuff.

Players were Ollie Honey, Tom Devesa, Oli Knowles, and Shingo Yamada.

Team Taunton beat Team Bath yesterday at the national level!
3 all after singles and doubles, but Taunton ladies won the tie break shoot out. Great win! Well done, ladies!

The Wednesday club session (From 7 to 10pm) and all adult pay and play coaching sessions will go back indoors from 17th May (Monday). It seems that the rule of 6 will still apply, but please follow instructions from the coaches/organisers.

Also, up to 6 people (or people from two households) can play social tennis (singles and doubles) indoors from next Monday.
