The Centar Surfacing Ltd team have been in North London, undertaking a long-term regeneration project focused on improving the footpaths throughout the area.

We have been working on a private project recently on a driveway in Oxfordshire!

Our team has turned this gravel driveway into a sleek, modern surface. We've laid the base and binder layers, with TP Group adding a stylish Barley Beach resin surface on top.

The Role:
As a Graduate Site Supervisor, you will work closely with contracts supervisors to manage surfacing gangs, liaise with clients, and ensure site requirements are met. Responsibilities include placing orders, completing paperwork, and providing on-site training.

What We're Looking For:
Recent graduates in the South East, preferably near London.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Motivated self-starter with a drive for results.

We're back at the largest zoo in the UK, Whipsnade Zoo, a ZSL conservation facility, the Centar team are putting the finishing touches on this footpath project.

Recognising that mental health is just as crucial as physical well-being, we're committed to fostering a supportive workplace environment where every member of our team feels valued and understood. Understanding that mental health issues may not always be visible, we're dedicated to enhancing our knowledge and awareness to better support the staff at Centar.

To achieve this, all Centar managers and leadership team members have undergone training in mental health first aid. Led by Michael Scott from mickscotraining, the course provided tools to recognise, understand, and respond to mental health challenges effectively.

By equipping ourselves with these skills, we're not only prioritising the mental well-being of our team but also creating a culture of empathy, understanding, and support within Centar.

This year, the focus is on how climate change affects our team's safety. Weather patterns play a big role in our work environment, from extreme heat to storms. So, keeping our team safe is our top priority, whatever the conditions on site.

This housing estate in Horsham, Surrey, is bustling with activity as the Centar team adds the finishing touches. With surfacing work throughout the estate completed, we're excited to see residents begin to enjoy this beautiful development 🏠

Today is a really sad day for Centar, as we mark the passing of one of our Centar family.

Barrie has been with us for the last 9 years, but a lot of us have known him a lot longer having worked with him at Spadeoak Construction, some for more than 30 years.

Barrie was known and loved throughout our business and has always worked hard to oil the wheels of everyone’s working day. He will be remembered of being a fountain of tarmacking knowledge, for having a ready smile and funny remark, for turning up to site with doughnuts for all on tough days and for putting himself out for the benefit of others.

Barrie we will really miss you and thank you for everything.

The Centar team have kicked off a new project in Berkshire, revamping the car park for a Village Hall. We're eager to witness the positive impact this will have on the local community.

Charlie and George recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the vast 600-acre Whipsnade Zoo, an integral part of ZSL (Zoological Society of London). During their visit, they began some initial groundwork as part of our project, with plans to return in a few weeks to complete surfacing and construct new footpaths around the lookout lodge.

Amidst their work schedule, they managed to squeeze in a meeting with the rhinos and the reindeer. Stay tuned for updates as we continue our work here 🌿
