Ps this move isn’t the easiest. The boat roof isn’t flat, and the water is moving. My balance was challenged 🤦♀️😂

What's on this week………Concentration
Think less of the exercise but of everything that makes the exercise. Concentrate on the movement, the length, the breath, the muscles. Look at how the small parts make the whole.

I was reading this article about Pilates and Mental Health. It says the 6 ways that Pilates can help with mental health are....
1. It can calm your mind
2. It acts as a stress & tension reliever
3. Regulate emotions
4. Will help you sleep
5. Regulate your nervous system
6. Regulate your hormones
Now I am not a scientist and so cannot say whether all the claims are true but from my person experience, as a person who has dealt with mental health problems, Pilates is great for calming your mind. One of the key principles of Pilates in concentration, if you are focusing on the movement, the breath, the alignment of your body. There is no space in your brain to be focusing on your worries. For the duration of that class you are in a beautiful space of clarity, of almost meditative trance, where it is just you and the movement, and it is wonderful.
I love that you can practise Pilates anywhere any time, and you can be transported to a place of calm, and that for me is fantastic for my mental health.
