We are so happy to be back after a lovely half term. This week has been all about celebrations and we have done many different craft activities of fireworks. We've had glitter in the mud kitchen, letters in the sandpit, turned our Greenhouse into our doctors' rooms and experienced many different sensory activities. We had some sparklers for 5th November that the children loved and they learnt about fire safety. An an extension to this, the children loved looking at the fire blanket! The children have also been busy this week making poppies for our poppy wreath which we delivered to the Church in time for Sunday's Remembrance service.
We would like to wish all our families a lovely half term break. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 4th November 2024.
This week we explored many activities around Halloween. From Sensory activities, different crafts, construction play, role play in the Tool Shop, making rivers in the sandpit, making lovely potions and chocolate cakes in the mud kitchen. It was lovely to see the children really engaging and willing to explore what was on offer.

This week at CAPs the children got to explore with Pumpkins. They were tapping golf tees in them and got to use spoons to scoop the seeds out. They explored making different things in the mud kitchen. Adding ground coffee to the mud kitchen was definitely a favourite amongst the children. We also began to introduce a little Halloween into the week by exploring making many different crafts from bubbling cauldrons to practicing our cutting skills in making ghosts. These were just a few of many activities we explored this week.
The children had a good week learning about planting bulbs, enjoying our Story Sack, exploring with paint, making play dough creations, mud kitchen creations as well as enjoying our new, refurbished sand pit. We had some bark delivered this week and the children were very helpful in helping spread it in the garden.
We've had another busy but great week at CAPs. The children have really enjoyed our theme this week from finding treasures in the sandpit to exploring with messy play and painting to really enjoying the books, construction and making delicious creations in the mud kitchen. We look forward to more fun next week.
If you're interested in making and showing off a scarecrow within the Parson Down Primary School catchment, please email your request to [email protected] by 4th October.
Another great week at CAPs was had by all. The children got to do some Yoga, explore painting with apples, practice their cutting skills by cutting out their family and sticking them in their house. They had a great time in the mud kitchen pouring, mixing and making creations. This is only a few of the many things they did.
We had a great week of lovely weather so we were able to be outdoors for most of the time. The children really enjoyed the opportunities that were put out for them to explore. They really enjoyed the farm and small world. As the week went on more things were added to extend their play. The mud kitchen was filled with beautiful flowers that gave the children the opportunity to use their sense of smell. We put our story sack out for the children to play with in our den. It was lovely to see the children re-enacting the story and song in their play. They loved the craft activity where the children got to make a person - they got to explore glue, saw dust, paint! Those were just a few of the many wonderful things we did this week...
