We are looking for new trade partners to supply us with their surplus part-used and unopened paint. We can collect from you by appointment Monday-Friday.

We’re really spoilt for choice in Thirsk with lots of fantastic small local businesses offering a great, wide range of products and services. You can help keep our town vibrant and encourage more of the same by shopping locally this Christmas.

Here at the Pop-Up Shop we aim to bring even more choice and give the smallest of businesses an opportunity to showcase themselves in our town. This supports sustainable self-employment and may eventually encourage more to set up in shops of their own, utilising spaces that may otherwise stay empty. This could also create new jobs for local people.

Thank you to all of you who have called into the Shop in the last two weeks. We hope to bring you lots more over the coming months.

Sally from Thirsk Community Library has also ‘popped up’ at the shop today. She’s selling children’s sticker/activity books for £1 each as well as preloved reading books for all ages. You can ask her about various events and activities coming up at our town’s volunteer-led library. We’re open until 3pm.

Today in the Pop Up Shop are Stacey and Peter with their laser craft business Evelyn and Jo (www.evelynandjo.co.uk). They established their business two years ago to fill the gap in trade during autumn and winter when demand declines in their Duck and Chicken Farm. Evelyn and Jo has been such a success they now trade all year round. They’ll be back in the Pop Up Shop on 29th/30th November.

Our amazing team of staff and volunteers have worked their socks off this afternoon! Thanks to all their efforts we have a lovely clean shop ready to open for business tomorrow. We have signage still to be put up in the next week or so and will be making a few tweaks inside but otherwise we’re ready to go!

13 pre-Christmas guest slots have already been booked at our Pop-Up Shop! If you’d like an opportunity to promote and offer your goods or services to the Thirsk community please contact us on [email protected] as soon as possible.

Are you a small independent trader, crafter or service provider who would love an opportunity to demonstrate or promote your wares on our high street? A new ‘Pop Up Shop’ is opening this week, to support local small business to do just that.

Up to five traders per day can book a table or space on a daily rate basis to be one of our guests, from a shop in a prime Market Square location.

Operated by local charity The Clock, the Pop Up Shop will also host two of our Clock Works social enterprise schemes - Help at Home and Community RePaint.

The local community and visitors to Thirsk will all benefit from this new addition which seeks to compliment the retail offer that already exists in the town, and bring something new, exciting and ever-changing.
