It’s Bear Necessities month! 🐻

This month is dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges bears face, such as habitat loss and the threat of hunting. It also promotes supporting bear conservation, whether through donating to animal protection organisations or educating others about bear safety.

This has inspired our monthly painting offer! Paint a mini bear for only £5, including all studio charges. 🎨

Preschool Sessions are back! ☀️

We didn’t run a session in August due to the school holidays, but these sessions are now running monthly again! Upcoming date is Tuesday, 10th September, from 10am to 12pm, with a Bear theme! There will be a variety of bear-themed sensory activities for your little one to explore.

October's Session - Friday 18th with a Nocturnal Animals Theme!

These are drop-in sessions, no need to book! £10 per child.

Coloured Clay Pot Throwing 🌈 Due to the popularity of our pop-up class this summer, we’ve decided to add it to our daily schedule!

In this 1-hour session, you’ll learn how to mix different coloured clays and throw your own pots!

Our expert ceramicists will guide you in creating a beautiful multicoloured piece, which we’ll glaze for you.

£50.00 for a one-hour lesson! 🏺

Fall into September Join us for lunch and a glass (or two!) of wine on our patio this September. We hope the sunshine sticks around so you can enjoy alfresco dining with your fellow parents!

Our opening hours on Friday will revert to 9:00am starting from this week.

We trialled a 7:30am opening for 8 weeks, but it isn’t cost-effective to continue at the moment but we are likely to trial it again in 2025!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for early morning breakfasts and takeaways over the past few weeks! We’ve loved seeing your happy faces first thing in the morning and are grateful for your continued support! 🥰

Late Night Painting 🎨

We are open until 8pm for painting on Wednesday, 28th August. Grab a drink from wildthyme_totnes and enjoy a relaxing, creative evening during our quieter hours!

Haven’t had a chance to return and paint that pot you made? This is a great time to do so!

Some new additions to the Totnes Safari! 🐒 A take on Banksy’s Three Monkeys!

These pieces were created by Malcolm Curley, the sculptor behind over 200 sculptures, including our Turtle, in Totnes and the surrounding villages.

It’s such fun to see families out on the ‘Totnes Safari,’ with children enjoying the challenge of spotting all the creatures throughout our colourful town! 🌈

We feel they are the perfect fit for our building. What do you think? 🐵

• Wild Thyme's Space
Wild Thyme Deli & Kitchen can accommodate large parties and groups, with seats for nearly 100 people inside, 70 outside, room to dance, a stylish bar, and a buffet menu tailored to cater for everyone’s needs! This space is available outside our usual opening hours and can be hired without food and drink.

• Upstairs Studio Space
Our private upstairs studio space is available for hire, with room to accommodate up to 44 people! Available both during and outside our regular opening hours. We are able to provide drink and food too if required.

🚙 Our large, free car park makes China Blue the perfect location to celebrate with your friends, family, or colleagues.

🎄 We only have limited spaces remaining for Christmas parties this year. Available dates can be found at www.china-blue.co.uk/events.

A huge congratulations to Susan, one of our talented ceramicists here at China Blue, who picked up two awards over the weekend at her exhibition! 😍

She won Best Painting in the Animal category, and also took the Overall Winner in the Sculpture category!

We are currently working with a 16-day lead time for collections in the studio. We are so grateful to be having such a busy summer, but it has put us 2 days behind our usual 14-day collection time, so we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We know you’re always excited to collect your pieces!

You will receive an email when your pottery is ready to collect or has been shipped, so please keep an eye out for this (and check your junk/spam folder) to avoid a wasted journey.
