What happens to your casts when they come out of the mould? ⬇

The casts are left to air-dry for at least 4 weeks to ensure they are bone dry. After being dried, any imperfections are taken care of before being sealed, airbrushed, waxed and framed.

What happens after you leave your casting appointment?

The first thing I do is check over the mold impression you have created, then it is filled with stone. Once set, your precious casts are taken out of the mold and they come out looking a little like this ⬇️

V E V I E 👶🏼

Vevie’s mama contacted me before she was born. She knew her little girl was going to be born with bilateral talipes and that she would probably need corrective surgery. She wanted Vevie’s little feet to be remembered as they were at birth, and I absolutely fell in love with the idea.

Vevie’s little feet are looking a lot different now and she is doing so well. But I am over the moon her family have these gorgeous and special casts to look back on 🫶🏻

Each frame needs ordering, measuring, cast mounting, dust removal, plaque mounting, glass cleaning, even more glass cleaning, assembling, photographing and packing.

It is all done by hand at my Tunbridge Wells studio.
