Thank you all so much for your love and messages on our wedding announcement on my last post. Both Scott and I were blown away with the love and support. ⁣
⁣
A little more than a month after our wedding, on a miserable M late September we embarked on our Honeymoon to Kenya and Tanzania. This Gallery is from our Kenya leg of the trip and I will share Tanzania next week. ⁣

Highlights included dancing with the Maasai, sunrise hot air ballooning, exploring the Mara with our game driver Akatch and seeing the great migration. I will be posting videos over on my stories.⁣

On a warm late August afternoon, I finally married my best friend of 10 years, at our dream Tudor castle in the English countryside.⁣
⁣
We always wanted our wedding to be intimate, botanical and cinematic; inspired by our joint love of history and nature. After a 7 year engagement, we finally made our dreams a reality and this was perfectly captured buy who managed to embody the vision and energy of our wedding day in our stills gallery. ⁣

As a continuing journey and exploration of the “Seeds Collection” I present to you “BELIEVE”.⁣⁣
A new chapter in the discussion of external and internal growth built on a foundation of, time, vulnerability and nurture. Whether personal or global, a Great charge does not happen overnight, it is a slow ebb and flow that is often imperceptible. But from a tiny seed comes a great oak and belief is at the core of fertilising growth, adaptation and change. ⁣

Inspired by my travels across the world, my work created for this project explores the rich heritage of the InterContinental brand and the elegance of global travel, through the lens of wanderlust.

Lobbies will be transformed with butterflies and vibrant floral installations, the staff will be wearing scarves and pocket squares adorned with my designs and each city will see The Claire Luxton Suite come to life featuring scents, sounds and designs inspired by my artwork..

AD My biggest public art commission to date! I’m so excited to announce that I have been commissioned by to transform 3 iconic UK lighthouses across East Sussex, The Wirral and the home of Hendrick’s Gin, Girvan on the Scottish Ayrshire coast.⁣

The installations celebrate the launch of the new, limited-release Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin, which was inspired by the magic of the sea and our enchanting British coastline.⁣

IT’S HERE!! Very excited to share my biggest project to date! Ending 2021 with a bang and my first hotel collaboration with as this iconic brand celebrates 75 years of pioneering luxury travel. ⁣

In true Luxton style, I have taken over the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel in London and present to you ‘The Elegance Of Worldliness’! The full install combines my immersive 20m Projection with an over 40m long artwork wrapping round the Hotel. You can come and visit my wanderlust-inspired takeover of the façade from 8th December. Keeping to my quintessential natural wildlife aesthetic, each bird, butterfly, and botanical is inspired by specific InterContinental destinations around the world, and the glamour and exhilaration that comes with discovery. ⁣

For my international friends, you can still enjoy a piece of the artwork with my special 75th Anniversary Instagram filter! Please tag me in all of your pictures if you get to visit the exhibition in real life or use the filter to experience it from afar. 🦋🌿✨⁣

So the story! This has been a creation of hours of research, months of planning, weeks of shooting and editing and a labour of love. When & reach out with this commission it really spoke to me. Taking inspiration from archival prints and the new Wonderlust collection (literally me in a tea cup) I wanted to create a new world, a fantasy eco system within the mural!⁣
⁣
Once everything was ready (against the clock due to the nature of fresh flowers and live animals) I built and sculpted the floral mural, and photographed the live animals from in situ. The resulting artwork comprised of over 30 unique images that I stitched and composited together to create the 3m x 6m artwork.⁣
⁣
A quote that sums it up from my recent interview. “When we speak to Luxton, she’s putting the finishing touches to the 6 x 3 metre creation. “Looking at the mural in my studio now, I’m just moved by the way these two worlds have been able to come together and reflect each other,” she says. “I think we’ve created something truly unique.”

When the full Harper’s & Wedgwood teams came to my studio we captured theses studio images to give you a glimpse of the artwork and the process. ⁣⁣

I will share all about the artwork and the process of how I made it on Thursday, but it involved hundreds of fresh flowers, meters of chicken wire and even photographing real life poison dart frogs! They were the cutest! My giant mural is also being reproduced by artisan wallpaper company and exclusive Wedgwood retail partner ⁣⁣

This has been 5 months in the making and is just the start. Change is on the horizon and this is the beginning of a new chapter for my career and practice. ⁣

Welcome to The Renovation Diaries. In an old Victorian Warehouse, in the middle of the English countryside, surround by woodland ⁣
my new art studio is taking shape. ⁣

For those who you who don’t know me, I’m Claire and i’m a full time contemporary artist. As some of you will know in 2020 as my art career grew so did my need for studio space. During months of lockdown I made my home office work until restrictions lifted and I was able to move into a super cute studio in an old renovated barn. You came on that journey with me, yet Over the next 6 months I quickly outgrew the space and went on the hunt for a new art studio. ⁣

Im passionate about architecture and interior design and back In March I found my new space. An old Victorian Green house factory on the Kent & East Sussex borders. This was a new venture, a community of artist and makers, and I instantly fell in love. I took a unit the same day, with the goal of working with the team to renovate part of the Warehouse and turn it into a dream contemporary studio. ⁣
