Dogtastic Portraits is run by Paws Portrait Artist - Shirley Cherry. Prices are dependent on size. All incredibly good value and packed full of colour pigments and vitality! It's easier than you think to commission a portrait of you best friend. Images are supplied on canvas or in a mount.

Celebrating our love of dogs The incredible thing about dogs is that everyone is different. Like humans, no two dogs are the same, take these three for example. But you can be assured they are all loved with an equal passion! At least we hope they are. That is what makes painting them so fascinating.

This picture was commissioned as a leaving present for a colleague who was crazy about her dogs! It was a great relief to discover the finished painting looked so much like her pets, especially as there was only a single reference photo to work from. WOOF and double WOOF!!

This cheeky chap has gone to his home. I enjoyed spending time with him in the studio. He’s part Spaniel, part Labrador. If you look closely you can see the different character traits. Plus he has a wall-eye but that makes his special!

POINTER PUPPY & TULIPS - Oops, I've been neglecting Facebook so I have some catching up to do!

Many of my commissions are presents so it's important I don't spill the beans and ruin the surprise before they've reached their intended audience. This Pointer Puppy was a Christmas present. Apparently as a young pup he loved to smell the tulips, so we wanted to find a way of including some tulips in the composition.
