Been a busy couple days giving all the hens and chicks a full clean out. Pressure washed clean, mite powdered, clean feeders, fresh bedding.
A happy hen is a good laying hen 🥚 🥚 🥚
I love watching the eggs hatch 🐣
It never gets boring and always amazes me how they can hatch in just three weeks and all they need to grow is in the egg 🥚
Scarlett is just two and could explain to you how they “eggys go in yellow bed to stay warm”
“Then they peck peck a hole, and crack their eggy”
“When they hatch they are wet and go cheep cheep”
Obviously Scarlett has seen a couple hatchlings now but it’s lovely to see her excited face and completely understand what’s going on.
These are a mix of general egg layers and some Light Sussex.
We will have Maran, light Sussex and Wellsummer Hatching Eggs available for sale in the coming months

Scarlett has been raising some home bred chicks this summer! Both Black/Copper Marans and Wellsummers. So far we have had 95% Fertility rate so our Cockerels are doing a great job! These chicks will be kept until point of lay next year! But we will start selling hatching eggs and chicks very soon 🐥 🥚 🐣
Added some lovely Light Sussex Chickens to our flock! They are only 6 weeks old so have a little way to go before we will have some Hatching Eggs, Chicks & Point of Lay Hens!
