When we are on alpaca walks we regularly feed branches from our hedges to our walking alpacas to show that alpacas are leaf eaters or browsers as well as grazers. They don’t need much training!

29/03/2024

Don’t you just love this boy? Rumour entertaining everyone on the walk today!

29/03/2024

….when a cooling bath seems better than a walk!

21/01/2024

How’s this for a fabulous recommendation for alpaca walking even at this time of year! Love this photo.

I think we have an incognito guest in this photograph!

Who doesn’t love a great selfie photo. This is one of our delightful walking guests in the mums and babies field after the walk with the Duke of Debonair stealing the limelight!

24/09/2023

Now the weather is getting autumnal, I thought I’d share a photo showing how great alpacas are at jumping! By the way Phil Sweet and Claire, this is Pharoah!

………just why would you?

29/07/2023

It may be slightly grotty weather at the moment, but it makes the walks much more enjoyable. We take about 35-40 photos on each walk to send free of charge to all of our walking guests!

25/07/2023

One of our loveliest natured walking boys, Quinn ( they are all brilliant at it!) has an itch and just needs a friend to scratch it!

24/07/2023

Rumour who is one of our walking boys and incidentally a supreme champion fleece show awarded male is not being rude…..really! He seems yo like the metallic taste of one of our gates.

Meeting this years alpaca babes after the walk puts a smile on to everyone’s faces.

Lovely alpaca walk today and managed to spot some orchids in fields we had not seen them in before.

Post Covid…… everything “ opens up” again

20/03/2023

Yes yes Aymara, that’s all very funny!

Alpaca walking, still “ off the scale” popular

27/04/2022

Alpaca walking of a different nature. This lady (Caprice, owned by Home Close FarmAlpacas) is the grand daughter of Marguerite of Bozedown, one of our first Suri Alpacas, and “Marg” is currently the oldest (23) and definitely most opinionated alpacas we have ever owned. Caprice was not too happy to have been taken as companion to an alpaca visiting the RVC after a dog attack. Let’s all remember the terrible reality of dogs not being kept under control! Couldn’t resist posting it!

Here’s a snippet of our appearance on This Morning. More can be viewed on ITV catch-up.

Great publicity for alpacas today. The whole interview can be watched on ITV catch up.......and it was lots of fun to do too.

13/04/2021

Hurrah! First walk of 2021 today for our guests. WELCOME!

What a great couple of days we have had. Victoria Barrett from Simply Alpacas introduces a training aid to our alpaca walking males group including both alpacas and Llamas.

18/03/2021

Counting down to starting walks again.....but we are delighted at the arrival of our new fun training aids and obstacles ( wait until they have mastered the next one- coming soon.....a seesaw) Merlin one of our llamas was the bravest. Love those llamas but the alpacas came close. No point rushing them trying new things!

We’re back! Alpaca walking to restart from 12/4/21 all being well. Yesterday, the government gave the green light for us to reopen our alpaca walks and holiday let from the 12th April. We are so pleased and can’t wait to welcome guests back to Spring Farm again. See you soon, Chris and Vicki, Spring Farm Alpacas.
