SKIN TREATMENTS VS AESTHETICS

I wanted to explain the difference between having treatments like dermal and anti wrinkle injections and skin treatments such as Micro-needling, chemical peels & laser skin treatments.

Aesthetics
💉 Using dermal filler we inject into the areas that have lost volume or elasticity to help freshen up the face and create a more youthful look. The dermal filler is placed in safe areas either on the bone to create structure or superficial to help smooth out lines. The results last for up to a year but start to wear off from 4 months depending on the clients lifestyle and skin.
💉 Anti Wrinkle treatment are used mainly in the upper face area and around the eyes to help stop the muscle movement that creates lines. It doesn’t fill static lines that are already present but can help soften them. The best time to start having this treatment is before the lines become static. Anti Wrinkle treatments lasts around 3/4 months depending on the client and clients life style.
💉 Skin Boosters are usually made from Hyaluronic acid liquid form, this is injected superficially into the skin to promote hydration and boost the skins natural collagen & elastin, this is often called the injectable moisturiser. A course of 3 is usually required close together and then 3 monthly booster to maintain the treatment.

Skin Treatments

💆‍♀️ Skin treatments are a natural promotion to encourage your own body to produce collagen, elastin & skin renewal. These treatments keep working as long as you keep up with the maintenance.

🪡 Micro-needling is one of the best ways to boost the skin naturally, we offer lots of different options with Micro-needling using many different machines, products & techniques to create an trauma that will set your body into repair mode to help with skin tightening, uneven skin, fine lines, scarring and pigmentation.

🍊 Chemical Peels work in the same kind of way as Micro-needling but with no trauma to the eye. It takes down the acid mantle layer and causes a stir up to the lower layers of the skin and then replaces the PH level back. This is a low downtime treatment that can help to improve the skin and youthful outcome.

Let me talk to you about COG Threads, one of my absolute favourite treatment’s to carry out.

COG threads are a small Barb wire type thread (very thin) that is inserted under the skin using a cannula, the same as when inserting dermal filler. The COG thread is carefully placed under the skin in the correct area that will help benefit the problem area.
This then attaches itself to the underneath of the skin and slightly pulls the skin tighter, This is great for areas that cannot be filled out by dermal filler. Once 8/10 COG threads have been placed under the skin and secured the COG thread takes up to 6 weeks to dissolve, rather the same as a dissolving stitch from the hospital. Where the skin has been lifted and the COG has been placed and dissolved our body’s create natural collagen to create the skin to thicken and lift naturally.
The COGs completely dissolve so you have nothing in the skin but a natural lift and tighter appearance. COGs help to lift for up to 18 months. Some of my clients have this along side dermal filler to create a more prominent outcome.

The face is fully numbed with local anesthetic and the procedure can be a little sore for up to 2 weeks after.

COGS will not work for everyone.
