Steven here. I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has come along to Poetry at the Pineapple this year. You've made it an amazing event night, and one I look forward to each month.

Sadly, and while we hoped we would be able to have at least one more Poetry at the Pineapple before the end of the year, this isn't going to be possible. What I DO want you to know is that this doesn't mean we won't be back.

On the contrary! We are planning on coming back early in the New Year with a firmer plan of event nights so you'll know when and where we'll be happening well ahead of time. There's lots of poetry ahead of us, friends, never fear.

Have an AMAZING festive season, and everyone at Post will see you at The Golden Pineapple next year. Also, please do keep in touch. We are only ever a message away, and it is our privilege to know you and to hear your work -- so if you ever want to share anything, I'd be happy to repost, tag or generally shout about how amazing you are! Well, friends, it's Pineapple Poetry Eve!

We're so looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for a refreshing cocktail and a smidge of lovely poetry at The Golden Pineapple.

Doors open at 6:30, and we kick off at 7!

We love helping facilitate space for poets, and we are thrilled to be a regular venue for Lisa Falshaw, a poet of warmth and incredible insight.

Here's what Lisa has to say about Poetry at the Pineapple:

"I love attending Post Poetry's open mic evenings. There is always a very warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere where already I have made new friends and connected with other writers. I would strongly recommend you give it a go - either read some of your own poetry or come along and listen to others. It is expertly organised by Steve and is held at a lovely venue where everyone is warmly welcomed."

Pop along on Wednesday to hear some amazing poetry in a gorgeous bar. If you would like to perform, we have two slots remaining, so please get in touch asap. Slots are 8 minutes long.

A fantastic spoken word night.
I’m fairly new to poetry and spoken word. I heard about Poetry at the Pineapple through a friend so I thought I would give it a go. The Golden Pineapple is a Tiki Bar on Wood Street in Wakefield. It is the perfect venue, inspired cocktails and friendly staff. Steve the host greets you with a smile, and is warm and full of encouragement, as are the fellow poets who are an incredibly talented bunch. It is an event that is now firmly fixed every month in my diary. Top night!

4 years ago we set up and set about creating a night for poetry, spoken word and anything creative. After 2 years of been unable to showcase some amazing local talent we came back last night to a full house!
A huge thankyou to everyone that came to perform and to listen and especially to our fellow co creative Steven Williams for organising such a great night in our new home.
