Millstream Pilates
Body Control Pilates Classes in Radley, Benson, Dorchester On Thames and Gallowstree Common.
The Pilates method can work for everyone and for all fitness levels, whether you’re managing on-going spine and joint problems and taking your first steps to improving mobility, or you’re recovering from sports injuries and would like to use your body more effectively, minimalise injury and strengthen the body to enhance performance. Or you're simply looking for an effective way to exercise, strengthen the core muscles of the body and improve your posture.
I want to give a shout out for client management system.
Not because they’re incentivising me but because they really are rather amazing!
I’ve been with them since 2017 and as they’ve grown, they still stay true to their original values.
Phenomenal customer service.
My clients love the ease of use, class swaps, the app, the store (for purchasing Pilates essentials) and they get as good customer service as I do in the rare instances they’ve reached out for help (rather than asking me!?🤣)
I love the automation, the manual work it takes away from my business (and my head!) the configurable interface to suit my business needs.
It means I can get in with doing what I do better…. Helping to fix people! ❤️ it’s so good, I took out a 2nd system for my Menopause coaching business
Thank you
If anyone wants to trial TeamUp, I do have a link you can use to give you an extended trial…. DM me and I’ll send it over.
What we never got taught at school… how to work, live, eat and train according to our menstrual cycle… if you have one still!
To all my ladies who still have periods… please take a read and share!
Super excited to have had the opportunity to write this article for and cycling/esports fitness blog.
Take a look to learn how to treat your body with respect and gain maximal results across your training program throughout the month as your hormones rise and fall.

19 years in love and 8 beautiful years of marriage! ❤️ the man that makes me possible and always delivers fun and love into everything we do! As well as regularly trying to train me from spending money 🤣
And here comes the start of the hill rep training! Back in full winter gear today 😳🥶
A session I procrastinate hugely about but strangely love too!
6 weeks to go to Trans Eryri!
It’s been so wet it’s been difficult to go off road with out drowning in mud or being distracted by bluebells and wild garlic!
So back on the road bike to get some nostalgic hill reps in on Aston Hill.
Determined not to turn the lights on at 8.30pm and work with the sunset!
Next week… everyone wear Fluor and then I can see you better 🤣🌅🌄
There seems to be a queue this morning!
Move over Po Po! 😻
I should also share that after 6 weeks from her horrific tail injury back in November …. We have around 70% movement restored… it’s a bit of a helicopter tail but she got to keep it!
It’s amazing to watch the progression of tissue repair and nerves … to a degree… she’ll always have compression where the vertebrae shunted upwards but doesn’t seem to be in discomfort.
The magic of healing and time. Oh and a lot of love! ❤️
Beautiful Trois Vallées!
It’s been 10 years and boy we missed you and your beautiful trees and nature.
Even if your snow is a little more challenging to sometimes swim in, sometimes scrape through, bump through and then of course fly flow through!
Loved it and our beautiful buddies for the week ❤️❤️
Got to the love the 100’s on the foam rollers!
A real challenge of isolation!
Staying calm so the brain can feed back from the proprioceptors to help maintain balance.
Isolating into the core muscles to stabilise without gripping everywhere else.
Flexing the hip with isolation to maintain balance.
Gentle shoulder stabilisation with arm movement.
The joy of not falling off and achieving all of the above!
… oh and the burn of the abs to let you know … it’s still the 100’s’ 🔥🔥🔥
For all my ladies in Peri menopause, surgical menopause, post menopause, chemical menopause and of course premature ovarian insufficiency…. I have a separate page for US!
Head in and follow to stay up to date on the latest findings, treatments and support ❤️
FOR ALL MY PERI TO POST MENOPAUSE GIRLIES!
After the excitement of Chris Evans mentioning our Menopause Retreat in Marlow (Bucks) on his breakfast show this week, we only have a handful of spaces left!
If you'd like to know more, please ask or grab yourself a spot on

We are super excited to welcome you for the day!
Please do share on Cx
When your lovely zoom client gets the telepathic memo that it’s orange leggings day! 🧡🧡
Love that we still have zoom to connect us from anywhere to share sessions!
The next Zoom session on Nourish Your Nerves is Friday 1st March at 5.30pm.
I had great feedback on the last session with a lot of people saying they felt incredibly relaxed afterwards!
Studies show that by down regulating your nervous system, vasomotor symptoms of menopause improve.
Such as:
🤍 Hot flushes
🤍 Sleep
🤍 Anxiety
Come and join us! Everyone’s welcome and no experience is necessary 🤍
You can book via the link in bio and I look forward to seeing you. Claire x
Over the years I’ve been on many courses and the ones that have made a profound difference to my body and wellness are ALWAYS the breathing ones! Oh and the feet 🤣.
But only because of all the other courses I’ve already completed does it all make SO much sense!
Can not wait to start playing with the Hypopressive technique for me as well as my clients!
Thank you Abby! Really enjoyed exploring this today. My body feels the best it has done in a long time ❤️ look forward to the next part! 💨 💨
Bone building Tuesday!
As I do Pilates daily, it’s essential for me that I add weights in at least 2-3 per week to help shock and stimulate bone mineral.
As well as building my muscles to support metabolism and to feed my body with the essential amino acids it needs to maintain healthy.
Oh, and then there’s the preparation for a Ski trip!! 🎿🎿⛷️⛷️
I love a range of weights pending on the exercise - the heavier the better for legs and glutes as long as you can maintain precision.
Sandballs are my fave- you can slam them on the ground when you’re feeling like letting rip 🤣
Morris thinks this is ‘helping’ me complete my lesson planning for next week’s festive sessions!
I beg to differ!
Ohhh the fun that goes into planning the last class of the year! ❤️
Can’t wait!
Something for every one and every type of class…. If you’re owed catch ups…. Next week is the week to do a class every day for some Tom foolery and variety…
We’ll be working vocal cords, spines, diaphragms with laughter, balance, strength, mobility and flexibility … with a few other surprises!
If you’d like to book an extra class in and are already a member, it’s at a reduced price of £10.00
Head into your TeamUp account and getting booking!

When you think your clients might be trying to tell you something!? 🤣
For my bone geeks!
Here’s a cats lumbar , pelvis and coccygeal …. Spot the inverted vertebrae … caused by elastic recoil of connective tissues.
Causing nerve compression but with some hope for recovery with partial extension recovered by 1/4 range over 17 days.
A little update on our little lady as lots of you have asked ❤️🩹
As you can see, she’s a patient with high demands 🤣 Gabapentin gives them a fierce appetite, watch out!
16 days on, she is more her self and has regained around a quarter of movement in her tail.. so there is hope but still a long waiting game to see if we get to keep her tail 🤞🤞🤞
She’s keeping us VERY busy! ❤️🩹
It's world kindness day - How kind are you to yourself?
As someone who was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency in my 30's, it took a very long time for me to be kind to me.
👀'My body had failed me, I'd failed as a woman, I'd failed my husband becoming a father, I'd failed my parents becoming grandparents, I'd failed as an example of wellness in the fitness industry'
👀You name it and 'I'd failed'
❤️🩹This is a normal thought pattern for us to go through.
💓The wonderful news is that we can re program our thoughts and with some help from others, we can change our narrative.
💓We need others to help remind us to be kind to ourselves and then we can share the kindness back out.
This is my little girl, Posie, she makes me pause for a rest and cuddles with her. It restores my resilience and kindness to myself, ready to help others.
I’ve been wearing my Low Back Pain Practitioners hat this week. But not in an enjoyable way.
My poor little girl has come home with a significant spinal injury where the tail has recoiled through god only knows what and has inverted the saccrococcageal joint (where the tail joins the sacrum) and compressed her nerves.
Heartbreaking to see the level of pain she was in… interesting to know they also give cats Gabapentin and wonderful to see how it eases her.
Now on a 2-6 week wait to see if she regains use of her tail 🤞🤞🤞
Otherwise amputation. 😢
Has anyone else ever had experience of this type of injury? Just wondering if there’s anything more we can do as apparently surgery isn’t an option…
The simple joys of watching one of your amazing teachers running a class when they don’t know you’re watching! Well, I did get busted 🤣
Using the Pole in Pilates helps with awareness of joint position, alignment and increase range …. Not to mention jolly good fun as a witches broom when it’s Halloween 🎃 🧙♀️ 🧹👻
Morris cat was completely worn out by the fabulous master class this morning 🤣 don’t think he’ll be moving for hours now!
Thank you Hannah…. My sports based class are going to love your inspirations!
Here you go! Just in case you needed any further encouragement why starting Pilates will be one of the best things you do!
We love this podcast - definitely worth a listen on BBC Sounds! 💙
Pilates is a low-impact, low-intensity exercise that can make you stronger, more flexible, and benefit your posture and balance. It’s proven to reduce lower back pain and it can even enhance your exercise performance! No surprise that tennis star Andy Murray uses it in his training routine. In this episode, Pilates expert Professor Ruth Melo from the University of San Paulo reveals all about the benefits of Pilates on our cardiovascular endurance, core strength and healthy ageing. Meanwhile, Michael challenges keen tennis player Rambali to take up Pilates and see if he can improve his serve.

In honour of …. Here’s my beautiful client who proudly shows off a glimpse of her amazing giraffe safari art work post double mastectomy.
now has matching leggings for her classes 🦒🦒🦒🦒❤️❤️❤️
Pilates helps maintain mobility in the shoulders and spine post masectomy, with a constant focus on scar work too.
changes once you’ve had a mastectomy so Pilates is the perfect exercise to partake in to help learn where your new body is positioned as well as making you feel wonderful about yourself again ❤️
As well as a Pilates teacher and Low Back Pain Practitioner, I’m a fully qualified and experienced Menopause Coach!

I can confirm that being stung by a jelly fish is a unique pain experience! 🔥🔥🔥
Lasting intensely for around an hour before becoming an acceptable level of burning 🔥🔥🔥
Don’t let the beach cafe man put ammonia on, as we did initially… it makes it worse!
My very calm and lovely husband plonked me back in the sea until Dr Google could tell him what to do and then he soaked me in hot water over a towel for 30 minutes.
Sue, I think you’d have approved of his approach!
The last photo is 3 hours later… happily subsiding with some anti inflammatory cream too…
P.s Gin helps too!
… I think you jinxed me yesterday 🤣 but at least I was prepared for it when it came!
Besides being 2nd cousins by marriage, what do these two amazingly courageous ladies have in common?
Many amazing things! ❤️ Both are very driven to help others and to create a platform to support women and girls in our position because our journey has been so complicated.
With 23 years between us, I fall into the 1 in 1000 women diagnosed under 30 with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency and falls into the 1 in 10,000 in women diagnosed under 20.
The journey we have been on and always will be, is complex physically and emotionally. You can only begin to imagine.
There is still so little support for girls with POI available on the NHS…. Going into POI at 15 is a very different experience from 20’s/30’s.
Health care providers need to support young girls and women with all aspects of health care that POI impacts, as they move through the stages of life.
Sheree is already changing the landscape for awareness on POI. Follow her for inspiration and watch this space!
Thank you Sheree 😘
