I’ve just had a cancellation, so Fossil Cottage is now free from Thursday 20 June until Weds 3 July. Last minute rate £300 a night (Airbnb works out at +£400 pn), minimum stay 3 nights, 20% discount for a week.
Otherwise, remaining summer dates are 7 - 10 July, 14 - 17 July, 30 August to 5 September and 10 - 15 September.

If you are considering booking Fossil Cottage for a summer stay, here are recent reviews! You don’t have to book a whole week, minimum stay three nights. Book direct at £350 per night (Airbnb including the service fee works out at just over £400 so cheaper to book direct). The cottage sleeps 6 so that’s just under £60 per person per night for a 5* rural retreat with everything you might need, including local welcome provisions.

Love Cake Cafe is a must for any visit to Swanage!

The Etches Collection - fabulous fossil museum just up the road from Fossil Cottage and opposite Clavells Restaurant - both worth a visit, with beautiful Kimmeridge Bay a lovely Spring walk away.

A lovely walk from Fossil Cottage, straight out the back door, up over the ridge - allow 40 minutes. The drop down the other side is steep so if you prefer a more level walk, take the fields along the back of Church Knowle, take the road a short distance then take the path down where you see a footpath sign posted for an easier walk.

Fossil Cottage is easy to find, just before the red phone box on the right coming from Corfe. Or if you come via Creech, after you pass the village pub, it’s a bit further on the left. Driveway parking at the back - but turn in slowly (even with a 4x4) as it’s steeper than it looks!

About 25 minutes walk over the top of the hill. Check the below opening times before you set off, so you’re not disappointed! Great sandwiches and amazing cakes!
