We are closed this week Monday the 5th Aug until 10th, while we take the kids for a little holiday.

**Hi everyone. Just to let our customers know we are now fully booked until 27th of July. In addition we no longer offer a recovery service, just Mobile mechanic, servicing, DPF, Diagnostics etc**

So, MB Autoservices is expanding! We will have an apprentice starting in September all being well. Attending collage through the week and out on the road with Mike on days off. Big things are coming for the business, it may take time but it will all be worth it in the end 😝☺️

On another note though, can we ask that clients old a new please use the work mobile number or work page fb messenger for quotes, booking jobs or general advice please.
Unfortunately some clients have got our personal number ( both me and Mike) and it becomes confusing when booking into the diary and keeping up with jobs and address.
We do endeavour to answer/ respond as quickly as possible to calls and messages however Mike is the sole mechanic at present and I can’t always contact him immediately which may mean a brief wait in responding to general queries.

Well, seeing as CWAC are in no hurry to sort out the appalling state of the roads, some drastic modifications were required for the service van 😂

Next job today:

Citroen Picasso with a knocking noise over bumps. Diagnosed as play in the antiroll bar drop links, new pair of drop links fitted, and a quick road test showed it’s now nice and quiet, no more knocking.

Fiat Punto with a slipping clutch. New LUK clutch kit fitted, and this little Fiat is back on the road

Transit Connect with a squealing auxiliary belt. Caused by a failed baiting in the tensioner pulley, so we replaced the pulley and the belt, and it’s back up and running quietly!

A Japanese import Jaguar V6 with a misfire. New coil pack fitted, and no more misfiring

Next job today:

Replacing the thermostat, housing and flow control pump on this Fiesta ST. Unfortunately afterwards the alternator belt tensioner pulley failed! We’ll be back to replace that as soon as the part comes in

Out to this Audi A4 to replace a failed alternator belt tensioner and belt, and diagnose the (very) low suspension on the rear, which turned out to be a snapped spring. Whilst there we also carried out a gearbox service on a Mini Countryman. Oil replaced, and the on board service record reset on the dash, as well as updating the adaptation settings in the transmission control unit.

First job today:

Ford Focus with the battery light illuminated on the dash. Initially suspected to be a failed alternator, but after a few tests we found the alternator was charging, just not enough. Someone had been in here before and replaced the wiring plug on the alternator, but had unfortunately mixed the wires up. After checking the wiring diagram we put the wires in the correct order, and the battery light went out. All fixed with no parts replaced

Back to the minibus engine replacement job. Last few bits refitted, oil and coolant filled, ready for the first turn of the key tomorrow, once we have coded the injectors in

ABS sensor, TPMS calibration, and interim service on this Astra Estate. The ABS light was illuminated due to the wire on the ABS sensor corroding through, so new sensor fitted, and the fault was cleared.

Anyone breaking a 2.0 Trafic/Vivaro/Primastar? I need a gearbox (6speed). Or any recommendations for a place for a recon one?

Sprinter minibus with near side indicators not working. We diagnosed this at the weekend as needing a new stalk. We returned today to fit the replacement, and all indicators work again!

A little Citroen with a HUGE oil leak! Thankfully a simple fix though - the oil filter had rusted through, so new oil filter, fresh oil, cleaned up all the oil, and it’s back on the road - leak free!

Bank holiday Friday shift:

Replacing the rear brake pads on the Silver Sprinter minibus, then stripping the seat from another Sprinter minibus, to repair a jammed seatbelt. Then onto the Transit that we are replacing the engine in, to fit a new steering rack before the new engine goes in! Speaking of which, that’s built up ready now to go in too…

Last job tonight:

This food truck broke down on Sunday night on its way home to Warrington from Nottingham. Diagnosed by Green Flag as a failed alternator. We got the call Sunday night, arranged the part and got it replaced today, ready for its next big event on Thursday. New alternator supplied and fitted, and a charging test afterwards showed the new alternator working perfectly

A broken down Kia Ceed. Diagnostics showed an alternator fault, but closer inspection showed a broken signal wire to the alternator. So we stripped the plug, re pinned it with new terminals, and the alternator was back working as it should

Back to the A5 we replaced the turbocharger on, to remove and clean out the intercooler before the car was road tested. Lucky we did, as inside the intercooler we found broken parts of the failed turbocharger! All cleaned out, refitted and road tested
