‼️Introducing: Market Meet Up‼️

We are delighted to announce a new series, Market Meet Up, where we get together and discuss hot topics in emerging markets!

This Thursday we will be discussing the Chinese Debt Crisis, and we want to hear your thoughts and opinions!

Evergrande, a Chinese real estate company with over 1,300 housing projects, was once the most valuable real estate company in the world. Now, it is the most indebted developer in the world, owing some $305bn to a multitude of investors. Due to its sizeable investments, investors have been warned about a lack of liquidity, meaning that they are now struggling to pay off their debts, which is also threatening to curb China’s post-pandemic recovery. The real estate sector accounts for 30% of China’s economy, so as a result of a company of this size on the verge of defaulting, there has been a significant slow-down in foreign investment, heavily impacting its GDP.

How will this impact the Chinese and Global economy in the future? Come along to tell us what you have to say!

We look forward to seeing you all there!
