Good Morning!! 🌞

Some good news to start a Friday… Our wonderful Montbeliarde Milk is back in the shed this morning! Hurrah! Thank you for being patient with us whilst our pasteuriser was out of action 🙏🏻

We also have some beautiful local honey produced from bee’s on Bredon Hill in Worcestershire and Strawberries grown in Cropthorne amongst other local and regional produce.

🐄 Update - the work has started on our pasteuriser so shouldn’t be too long until our milk is back in the shed 🤩🙌🏻

We still have our other glorious British produce stocked in the shed… let us tell you a bit about the popular Manor Farm Yogurt which is a very popular addition.

Peter and Cheryl have farmed in Thrussington in Leicestershire for over 40 years. Peter is immensely proud and passionate about his British Friesian Cross Jersey cows. They are out at pasture as much as possible, only wintering in when the weather is adverse.

Cheryl recounts that he knows the name and history of every cow in the yard. The milk is high in both protein and fat which is responsible for the unique creamy flavour and texture of the yoghurt.

We stock both the smaller Live Fruit Thick and Creamy yogurts and the Natural Live Yoghurts- both of which are extremely popular in the shed.

It’s great to support other farmers and stock local and regional produce… thank you to the Thrussington Herd🐄 😀

Morning All

Our milk pasteuriser is currently being refurbished and updated- this means that unfortunately we will not be able to use our milk vending machine or milkshake syrups until our pasteuriser is back with us. Hopefully it will only be a week or two, fingers crossed! Sorry for any inconvenience…. We will keep you updated 🤗

The shed will still be open for all our other wonderful produce including seasonal strawberries grown in Cropthorne, Manor Farm Yogurts, Eggs and Kelsmor Dairy Ice Cream and other glorious British Produce from growers and farmers.

Happy Father’s Day shout out to the OG of Teds Shed!! 😎

Despite being super busy on the farm and keeping the big wheels turning- Ted is the ultimate dad to his two boys. We think you are Moo-vellous and an Incredi-bull 😂🤣 dad and makes sure he gets the boys involved at every opportunity- from milking the cows in the parlour, spending time in the forager when silaging and taking the boys to their rugby sessions! We love you Farmer Ted / Dad ❤️🐄 Hope everyone has had a lovely sunny Sunday 😊 # # #

We are super chuffed… we have been awarded another squeaky clean 5 star Food Hygiene and Safety rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We pride ourselves on having the freshest, yummiest, gently pasteurised milk from right here on the farm. We have only ever had 5* Food Hygiene and Safety for our milk ever since we first started ‘the shed’…. and we are over the moon with that! Thank you to the whole team on the farm 🙌🏻

🐮 As a side note, If you haven’t seen our poster in the shed we will be CLOSED from 6pm this Friday 31st May and back open on 8th June for a little break🐮

What a long winter it has been!! ☔️ Usually the cows would have been turned out by now but the fields are so wet we haven’t been able to; it doesn’t look like it is going to dry up very soon! We are definitely looking forward to the day we can open the barn gates and watch them all skip about out in the fields ! 🐄🐄

There’s no January diets going on here 😜 We have some treats today in the shed homemade and baked by our lovely friends at Bransons Cross Truck Park … Caramel and M&M Chocolate Brownies 🤎😮‍💨 These are a little bit lush!

This Sunday 7th January, the local farming community will be taking part in the Jack Connolly Tractor Run in memory of our dear friend Jack and raising money for charity. We are likely to be heading off from Bransons Cross at 11am (with the route shown below) and will be in Henley for 11.30 ish (note the ish, give and take 😆) please give us a wave of support if you see us on route. Ted will be in the convoy too so be sure to give all the tractors a cheer and a toot of your horns in memory of Jack.

We wanted to extend our warmest wishes to you and to thank you for your continuous support and loyalty for our little ‘shed.’ Team work makes the dream work 🫶🏻 and we couldn’t do it without you or our fabulous team on the farm.
Please keep supporting small businesses- we are still amazed by the amount of regular support we have for our lovely milk… nearly 8 years after making the leap of selling our milk direct!

Dulce de Leche Cruffins to be exact 😍 They are a buttery, muffin shaped croissant with a shot of creamy, sweet caramel sauce in the middle and sprinkled with sugar. What a treat!

It’s getting towards that festive time of year and our girls our sniffing out the mince pies 🥧 😃❄️

We are starting to feel a bit festive and have our first batch of mince pies available in the shed… deliciously handmade in Bidford on Avon. Don’t forget, it’s the Beaudesert & Henley Christmas Lights switch on tonight between 4.30-6pm in Henley in Arden, to help get you in the magical mood 🧑🏻‍🎄

We will be open until 6pm this evening to grab some festive treats 🎄🐄🥛

The boys (and girl!) have their winter jackets well and truly on, very fluffy this morning! 🐮 and looking really well in the winter sunshine ☀️

In the shed this week we have:
🥧 Some beautiful gravy pies, Free Range Sausages and Game and Pork Pies from The Outdoor Pig Company. Which are perfect, quick and easy for family dinner time and delicious!

👩🏻‍🎨 In the machines are also some wonderful blank greeting cards, perfect for any occasion made by (and I may be a bit biased as they are wonderful- my mum!)created by Mo Bogaard Art and featuring our native wildlife. They really are beautiful are prefect for sending out to friends and family.

It’s been a bit damp and dark out there recently, with plenty of rain due again tonight… our girls are still out munching grass during the day but come in to shelter during the nights now. With that in mind, we have plenty of warming, comfort food in the shed today….

The Autumn days are here, the mornings and afternoons are darker- and we’re ready for it! 😁 Still a lot to do on the farm before winter routine sets in- we need to collect in the Maize Harvest in a month or so, maybe a few extra cheeky fields of grass silage and the list goes on. 🚜🌽🌱

From 5am today British farmers are encouraged to take to social media for one day to post pictures, videos and text to show and explain the work they are doing that day. The aim is to show consumers the vast extent of the effort and care which goes into producing the food they eat.

We will be posting throughout the day about some of the jobs and adventures of our typical day- starting at 04.30am… start the day off right with a brew and checking the maternity ward!

We’ve been super busy here on the farm in the past few weeks with lambing as well as calving…. but what a couple of days wonderful sunshine, even the sunset was beautiful last night! … the grass is growing and the animals have a bit of sun on their backs, lovely!

Can you believe…. 7 years of Farmer Teds Shed and selling our own farm produce and 6 years of taking the plunge with our milk vending machine! Time has whizzed by! From selling our own eggs at the farm gate… to investing in, at the time, what was innovative equipment that meant we could get a fair price for our milk… at the time we were only getting 16 pence a litre for our milk that our beautiful Montbeliarde girls produce.

Through the years we have been able to add other local, regional and all British producers to our little shop some of which include Henley Chocolates, The Outdoor Pig Company, Manor Farm Yogurt, Fowlers of Earlswood and Pershore Press Juice… to name a few! Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the years… it really does mean a lot to us 🫶🏻🐄🐄❤️
