Where do you sit in your work, life, hobbies? It works the same with personal growth and fitness.
It is uncomfortable to step outside your safety (and safety is different for us all). But having the resilience to push yourself, progress and keep going is so beneficial. Sometimes we get caught in pain, tension and anxiety because it feels to hard or unsafe to choose another path.
The first step is always awareness, and I think this visual is really clear.
Do you sit in the comfort zone or push through the fear?
One of my first mindfulness practices when I started my journey many years ago was walking.
Intentionally walking more slowly. Noticing when I was rushing (which was every time I walked anywhere) and intentionally going more slowly.
Then feeling the pressure of my foot on the floor. Sometimes counting footsteps, to 10 then start again.
Slow down your movement, be aware of how you are moving and improve when you can, when you can.
*When we are more aware we can improve our posture and how we move. We can make conscious change rather than be stuck in bad habits that cause us pain.*
Working one to one is my favourite way to get results.
You can book weekly, monthly or do a 6 week intensive.

Move Freely Pilates is a special class where we have taken the basics of Pilates, added in common physio and back care exercises.

It so good, so accessible, it will keep you strong and mobile and will ease your pain.
Modern Mindfulness practice is trauma informed and recognises that it can be difficult to sit or do breath focused meditation if you have a heightened nervous system and/or are recovering from trauma.
Still Mindfulness and Meditation are super skills to develop to help you heal. Especially in the presence of a safe person.

This leads to stress and disease as the body is not in harmony. Hormones are out of balance, we ignore the signals our body sends, ignoring pain and pushing through.
