I'm excited to share that Wat's On is back for another amazing summer, these fantastic activities are completely FREE for families. Along with our partners Bowerbirdy Watford, we're dedicated to ensuring every child in our community can have an unforgettable summer!

From Monday 29 July to Friday 30 August, we will be bringing you a lineup of fun and challenging activities for kids aged 5-15.

Pre-booking is required! You can easily book for multiple children with just one login. If your plans change, you can now cancel online, allowing other families the opportunity to join in the fun.

Talking About School 🎒
Help your child transition smoothly into nursery or school with these top tips:

💬 Talk positively about their new school or nursery to encourage excitement.
🚶 Take regular walks past the new school to familiarize them with the area.
🍌 Discuss the school day routine, like registration, snack time, and playtime.
🧺 Introduce the uniform by washing it to give the clothes a familiar smell and feel.
📖 Read stories about starting school. Visit your Hertfordshire libraries to access books for free.
👪 Attend sessions at your local Family Centre to introduce new environments and meet new people. Our team are here to help with any questions.

FYI - School uniform sale dates 👌

♻️There are plenty of preloved uniforms on selling sites and lots of schools do swap shops etc too - I couldn’t pass my kids stuff on as by the end of term it’s bogging 🤣
Uniforms, especially primary school, do tend to be cheap as chips nowadays as supermarkets battle for the market but the price hike once they are in secondary school attire can be a lot more expensive so it’s always good to know where the best deals are 🙂

We are off to the MAT Excellence Awards on Thursday as we've been shortlisted the Inclusivity award.
