Well that’s it. The keys have been handed over and we have passed the ownership of the pub to the new owners. Thank you to all of you for your support over the past seven years; to our staff, past and especially present, who we have been blessed to have, and whom we would move heaven and earth for, to our customers who we think of as friends, and some as family, and to those wonderful people who we remember fondly but who are no longer with us. The pub is just a building. We hope it is a well-loved heart of the community, but it is just a building. It is not the building that makes the place, it is the people, and we truly will miss you all. We are grateful for your support through thick and thin, and the trials and tribulations of the last seven years. We really are grateful to you all. Wishing Paula and Tosh success with everything. And to the rest of you, thank you, thank you, thank you. ❤️

Absolutely heartbreaking news to hear of the events which took place last night at Newsbit 💔

We would like to show our support for our friend and local business owner, Prem at Newsbit on Villiers Road which was broken into last night.

The thieves damaged/broke his shutters and smashed the glass to gain entry as well as stealing what could be as much as thousands of pounds worth of ci******es.

We’ve launched a GoFundMe page, so residents can show their support for Prem and contribute to the expenses of repairing his shop. If you’re able to donate, please do so here: https://gofund.me/c1014ad3

We’re grateful to the police for their support and investigation in to this incident and wish Prem all the best as he gets the shop reopened and restocked.

If by any chance your doorbell camera or any other CCTV, caught the incident (around 2.45am - thieves travelled on at least one moped), please contact the Police by calling 101.
