One of the most notable statistics is the gradual ascend in incidents over the years attended by Fire Rescue Services (FRSs). Despite FRSs attending 592,996 incidents, revealing a decrease of 5.6% in comparison to the previous year (628,034), there was an increase of 2.6% compared with 5 years ago (578,150) and an increase of 12% compared with 10 years ago (529,167).

This fluctuation in incident numbers highlights the unpredictable nature of fire-related incidents and the importance of being prepared at all times.

We started our journey in 1973 and have been growing ever since, always learning and adjusting to new security challenges.

As we begin our 52nd year, we want to say a big thank you to all our clients, partners, and team members who have been with us on this journey. 🙌

Continuing from our last update, the UKSI trip to Scotland was nothing short of remarkable. After our time in Glasgow, we headed off to Edinburgh.

Upon arrival, we drove straight into the heart of the city with a day at the conference. The exchange of ideas, the discussions, and the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals was a pleasure.

We later on found ourselves at the incredible Edinburgh Castle. Here, we were treated to a private drinks reception in the Officers Mess. The castle, steeped in history, provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of networking and affinity.

Our day concluded with a wonderful dinner at the , courtesy of . The superb Scottish cuisine, coupled with the restaurant’s warm ambiance, certainly made for a memorable dining experience.

The following day, we had the privilege of visiting the UKSI Head Office Command and Control. It was inspiring to see the nerve centre of our operations and meet the dedicated team that keeps everything running smoothly.

Next on our itinerary was a team day, which saw us split into groups for various activities. While some opted for a relaxing day of golf, we chose the thrill of Knockhill racing.

As our Scottish adventure came to a close, we boarded our flight home out of Edinburgh, carrying with us a wealth of experiences and memories. We remain grateful for the opportunities and look forward to what lies ahead.

T.J. Fire & Security is currently looking for a full-time fire extinguisher technician to join our team. This role does not require any prior experience as we provide all the necessary training and qualifications.

In this role, you will be provided with a van and tools to carry out your responsibilities effectively. The position offers on-target earnings exceeding well over £30,000, which includes commission. There is also no cap on potential earnings.

Take a look at this vintage fire alarm call point. It’s a classic example of the “break glass” type, which served us well for many years.

Fast forward to the present, and call points have undergone a significant transformation. The most notable change other than the colour is the implementation of a resettable element. This means that once activated, the call point can be easily reset without the need to replace the glass which can save you money on call outs too!
