Whitby Dog Rescue Update - Alleged Noise Complaint 10 August 2023

Firstly a massive 'Thank You' to all our supporters for you very kind words about the dog rescue and Bob! We are so grateful you took the time to send messages, letters, emails and sign petitions - over 800 support messages which is fantastic!

We are also very grateful for the support of Councillor Neil Swannick, who eventhough this is not his area, has given his time, advise and effort to contact the Environmental Health Department with a view to finding a solution. As it is the holiday season, we have not yet heard anything concrete and are hoping that no news is good news.

Meanwhile, we were very heartened to rehome 7 dogs in July. We have just got 3 new dogs in this week - Thor an 8 month old GSD, Noah a 9 month old lab and the gorgeous Mr Milo (staffy cross) who is around 3 to 4. Some of the dogs have been with us quite a long time including Casper the lurcher who has been with us since Nov 2019 and Milo the rotty cross Patterdale, since Oct 2021. Hi just updating everyone on the Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue and asking for support from all of you who know the Dog Rescue and the work we do. We are still operating as normal at the moment with Bob looking after all the dogs we rescue as he has done for so long at his wonderful site in the Whitby countryside. However and very, very sadly we have come under a lot of pressure and stress in recent months as a new neighbour has moved into a house near Bob’s and has filed a noise complaint with the Environmental Health over the rescued dogs being looked after. There is now a danger that we may have to stop caring for and rehoming the rescue dogs as we have done for so many years. But you can help us and our case - any letters or messages of support for the Dog Rescue would be gladly welcomed.
