Our Story

Joanna Toys was founded in 1981 by 2 ladies who wanted to bring an affordable and environmentally friendly baby service to the people of North Tyneside and surrounding areas.

Over the years Joanna Toys has flourished with the help of our customers and hard-working team, both past and present.

We offer a range of services:

Selling products on your behalf -
We sell most second hand baby products (excluding everyday clothes, potties, mattresses and items which unfortunately may not meet current safety regulations). The best way to inquire about selling with us is to call us on 0191 252 9984 or message us via our page, Joanna Toys.
We normally keep items in store for 1 month to begin with. Once an item sells the money is available 2 weeks from the date of sale and our commission is approximately 1/3 which is added on top of the amount agreed at the time of receipting in the item. We ask that you keep in touch with us to find out if your item has sold. Please be aware that if we have not heard from you and are unable to get in touch goods do eventually move on to charity. Our chosen charities are Tiny Lives Special Care Baby Unit at RVI and also North East Children’s Cancer Research.

Cot and Moses basket mattresses
Sheets (Pram, Moses basket, Next2Me, Cot/Cot bed)
Party bag/Pocket money items
And more.

A hire service –
If you have family visiting, did you know we offer a hire service? We know how difficult it can be to travel with baby equipment so we try to make this as easy as possible.
Subject to availability we offer:
Single Strollers
Highchairs
Car seats for all ages
Cots
Travel cots
Safety Gates
These can be hired at a daily or weekly rate starting at £2 per day with a £10 returnable deposit.
