WM Brown X New & Lingwood introduces the latest collaborative travel dressing gown, cut in a beautiful seersucker that has been made by hand on Jermyn Street.

“This latest dressing gown collaboration finds its inspirational routes from a vintage robe I bought years ago. It was a pale tan seersucker trimmed in a white piping. The shawl collar is wide and the robe is cut trim and long. I have worn that robe thread bare through many summers and I am happy to have it updated and reimagined by New and Lingwood. We used a similar tan seersucker but pipped this one in olive. I am happy to have this version in my life to wear on warm summer evenings at Wm Brown farm or coffee in the garden of Maison Mèdoc.”

“”The house itself is somewhat mad. It’s often been described as Marie Antoinette meets Oscar Wilde by way of a Brazillian bo****lo, which I think is a pretty accurate way of describing the aesthetic we’ve got going here.

“The vibe I wanted is very traditionally British but with that specifically British thing of being quite tongue-in-cheek. It is playful without being silly I hope, and a lot of the design choices we made in the house are inspired by very old-school and traditional interior design techniques but we subverted them by using fun colours and playful textures and playful fabrics.

“So it’s kind of contemporary and modern without being overwhelming or silly. In my opinion anyway. I can imagine it’s not to everyone’s tastes, but it’s where I feel most at home and most comfortable and ironically most relaxed, bearing in mind it’s not NOT a visual assault.”

The Batik Trousers made as part of our Lisa King Craft Week capsule collection are each entirely unique pieces handmade in London. Cut from the same block as our classic lounge trousers, they use archival batik textiles from Lisa’s family archive that were collected over a 40-year period by her mother.

Handmade in our Jermyn St. Atelier, each dressing gown in our Lisa King capsule collection is a one-of-a-kind creation made from archival Batik textiles.

These fabrics were sourced from Lisa’s family collection and carry with them a deep personal significance.

Today marks the launch of our new collaboration with artist and designer, Lisa King, at our Chiltern Street store. On display and available for purchase is a collection of entirely unique shirts, trousers and dressing gowns made from Lisa’s collection of archival Batik textiles.
