Kaya Winney is a Witney based Reiki practitioner trained in the Japanese Usui method of Reiki.
She offers Reiki treatments to adults although she is also trained as an integrative child and adolescent counsellor
and is passionate about supporting young people with their mental health.
Her journey with Reiki started when she was living in Ireland and she found that it helped her both with her physical health and general well-being.
In many ways, Reiki has also been complimentary to her training as a psychotherapist.
Sometimes the only way to address stuck emotions is through the body rather than the mind.
Our bodies never lie and if we consistently repress our feelings, we can experience ill mental and physical health.
Reiki treatments are meant to rebalance the body, deal with that stuckness of energy and e-motions (which in fact is energy in motion) in the body and work on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. It is almost like acupuncture but instead of needles the practitioner will use touch and hand-off work.
They can also be beneficial with specific issues such as somatic symptoms, anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, feeling lost, relationships with others and one's own body.
During the treatment, which lasts about 50 minutes, you would normally feel calm and even sleepy.
Many clients report feeling relaxed afterwards, having important insights and being more embodied.
