How did Magnus Carlsen's father see his role as a parent? Read here from his BCM interview:

‘It’s important to understand your role as a parent. Growing up, you have this idea that parents are adults and they always behave that way, and that’s not the case. Parents are adults, but they also have feelings and good and bad days, and they also make mistakes. So, as a parent, if you accept and understand that you are far from perfect and that you’re not at your best every day, you struggle the best way you can. It’s not about doing 100 per cent every day, but it’s about making an effort, some days more than others’.
