I have recently been approached by several residents of Holt who wished to talk to me about vehicles that were parked in such a way that they were blocking pedestrian access on the pavements, they have had to wonder into the road to get around parked vehicle. All of which puts these people in danger from vehicles using the roads.
What we all need to be aware of is that when, as last resort, we have to park partially on the pavement, we need to ensure that enough room is left on the pavement so that pedestrians, including those with pushchairs and wheelchairs, can safely use it and that they don’t have to step out into the road, putting themselves in danger, to get around you, if we all bear this in mind we can keep everyone safe.

casual vacancy for a Councillor at its meeting to be held on

(C2073 Haye Lane, Ombersley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023
Proposed Order: to close that part of C2073 Haye Lane from its junction with U40202 Hadley Lane to its junction with A449 Main Road.
Reason: Water main bypass installation by Severn Trent Water.
Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.
Alternative route: Diversion Clockwise - C2073 Hadley Lane, A4133 Droitwich Road, A4133 Main Road, A449 Main Road (southbound), C2073 Hadley Lane; Diversion Anticlockwise - C2073 Hadley Lane, A449 Main Road (southbound), A4133 Droitwich Road and vice versa.
Maximum duration: 18 months. Anticipated duration: 12 days. Commencing: 21 August 2023.

Holt Parish Council are delighted to announce that we now have a permanent VAS machine at beginning of the village by the post office. There will be a second at the other end of the village, by the Red Lion, within a week or 2. The parish council have worked very hard to secure some funding and arrange for installation, with chairman Dennis Pugh and councillor Steve Williams liaising with Worcestershire County Council Highways. Hopefully these will help to reduce speeding through the village.
