Hi all, I've been asked to share this message from inspector Darren Whibberley. Thanks, Louise.
Police recruitment from our black and minority ethnic (BAME) communities.
During these difficult times all aspects of policing continue, including recruitment. A significant number of our communities in the Wrexham Rural policing area are of a BAME background, whether those that live, work and play here, or visit us in better times. I am determined that my team of officers and wider support staff properly reflect the communities we serve. Until this time I cannot lay claim to adequately delivering a policing service that recognises and understands the needs of all, hence I am personally reaching out directly to our BAME community and asking them to consider the police as a career. Policing provides a challenging and rewarding career and not right for everyone. This is the start of what will be a concerted effort locally to overcome any barriers to recruitment experienced by members of the BAME community and find the right people to serve as police officers or police staff. If you would like to get in touch with me I will ensure you receive the help and support you need to decide if the police is the right career for you and progress through the recruitment phases, and I ask those of you who have friends and family who may be interested to share this message and encourage them to get in touch.

Thinking of Leaving?
Are you concerned that self-isolation rules make it difficult to leave your home in an emergency?
The Government has confirmed that victims of domestic abuse are allowed to leave their home to escape their abuser or to ask for help during the lockdown.

Two teenagers at approx 7:40pm tonight, dark clothing, one on foot one on a dark bmx have thrown a live firework at my husband as he was walking the dogs. Landed a metre away from him and the dogs. Happened near the salon on station road. I’ve contacted 101 and police are aware. Please share to make people aware!!
We have received CCTV footage with audio of 2 males in a garden last night around 1:55am on Piercy Avenue and running off down Station Road. If people could check their CCTV and if there is anything suspicious please report to 101.

ST Deiniol & ST Marcella Church
Marchwiel is a pleasant country village, 2.4 miles south of Wrexham on the A525, Wrexham to Whitchurch road.
We are proud of our 16th century church - St Marcella and St Deiniol. (We can be fairly certain that there was a church on the site of the present church, from at least the 13th century, and in fact there is a link between St Deiniol, who died in 584 AD, and the first church in Marchwiel, The Church was rebuilt in 1778 and the tower was built in 1789, The church was enlarged in 1829. Marchwiel Community Council’s Burial Ground is situated to the rear off the main church path and linked by a gate. It is maintained and managed by the Community Council and has received praise for its upkeep.
Local businesses welcome visitors and residents to the village where you will find a friendly / pleasant public house, the Red Lion who welcome visitors to sample its fayre. The primary school Ysgol Deiniol is situated in the centre of the village in pleasant school grounds, located off The Ridgeway., There is a play Area and MUGA site with skate park are located on Station Road, they are much enjoyed by the younger generation of the village.
