Thanks to all the volunteer Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs) from and who gave up their time to attend the ICV Training Day in Wymondham today. Our new Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner, Sarah Taylor, took this opportunity to come along and meet everyone.
Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs) are members of the local community who volunteer to visit Police Investigation Centres (PICs) in Norfolk and Suffolk, unannounced and in pairs, to check the treatment and welfare of detainees and deliver effective oversight to ensure a safe environment while providing public reassurance.
They play a valuable role in maintaining public confidence in this important area of policing.
