As chocolate makers we get to explore all of these amazing flavours in cocoa that the farmers develop in the fermentation and drying process.

It’s why working with chocolate makers creates unique and dynamic chocolate experiences that make great pairings!!!

While we’re still here we have reconnected with our vision the last few months to focus on our story as chocolate makers as well as the things we craft and share with chocolate.

We’re the same team with the same vision but focusing on our journey with cocoa and how we share that with our visitors and other chocolate lovers is our priority.

You may see us posting a lot less on this identity but we hope you will join us at York Cocoa Works where we can share much more about our process, our people and our products.

We’re excited to be looking forward to York’s very own Chocolate Festival coming up Easter weekend as our team head out into the city to share our chocolate making process and invite you to join us to craft your own Chocolate Easter Egg Bar.

We’ve now sent out all of your packages but remain open in store until 3pm on Christmas Eve for your chocolate needs and then open again on the 27th for holiday treats and celebrations as the festivities in York continue.

We’re very sorry!!!

Today we are sad to share the news that several customers have come in and cleared our shelves of all of our truffles!

We know that’s what they are there for but we have been overwhelmed with your visits and support!

We are restocking as soon as our hands can pack them but it won’t be until Wednesday that we will have our shelves restocked and even then we can’t guarantee that some lovely chocolate lovers won’t come in again and do the same.

Reserve yours online but it’s likely we’ll have to turn our collection ordering off early this week.

We hate to disappoint but we can only make what we can make.

What a great weekend! Thank you to all our chocolate makers, tasters, visitors and team on the opening weekend of York’s St Nicholas Fair.

What a fabulous start to the York Christmas Market! Top marks to our Apprentice Luke who did an outstanding job establishing our stand and even doing a little bit of a hot chocolate making lesson to the Baker family as they stopped by to say hello!

Well done Sainsbury's making more steps to reduce their packaging impact! I love sharing chocolate but I am never comfortable with Easter, paying more for the air in the middle than the chocolate you enjoy, relying on plastic packaging to show off the chocolate and having to put so much stuffing in to ensure they arrive safely.

This year our team have consciously reduced our range to reduce our waste and the negative impact our indulgences have.

Thank you to all our customers who have continued to support our values and mission.

It’s wonderful to see our chocolates on the shelves of Castle Howard this Easter.

You’ll discover our team in the Courtyard this Easter with chocolate treats, chocolate workshops and the Wildlife Willow Sculpture Trail with some chocolate prizes.

This week marks 5 years of chocolate making as we celebrate York Cocoa Works 5th birthday!

For so long our vision and plan was to bring real chocolate making back to York and we’re utterly indebted to those who helped us achieve that goal!

Our belief is that the things we enjoy and luxuries we indulge in shouldn’t cost the earth!

To all our customers, collaborators, Cocoa farmers and chocolate makers who have helped us build our chocolate manufactory and more importantly helped us work through the last few years -
