Who runs Acomb Community Clothes Swap and who is it for?
We are a community/non-profit group of local people who are passionate about reducing clothing waste and fast fashion, care about our local community, love clothes and meeting new people and simply love the idea of swapping not shopping.
We started in October 2019 with 10 bags of our own clothes and no idea if anyone would come along! Fast forward to 2024 and we now hold a monthly swap welcoming up to 100 swappers through our doors and have a team of 20+ volunteers who make it possible.

We are here for everyone! Our masterplan is to get everyone into coming to events like these and "shopping" for "newtoyou" items every month.

We are super grateful to who allow us to use their lovely hall on Front Street, Acomb each month and all the wonderful swappers who bring along their super swap items each month.

People often ask about what we mean when we say we only accept "great quality clothes"
This means we welcome you to bring along up to 20 items of clothes that are clean, non marked, not damaged and that have plenty of life left in them.
They do not have to be designer or high end brands (but we do welcome these too!) but simply suitable for someone to take home and wear again.
Unfortunately we cannot accept underwear, swimwear, nightwear, uniforms or children's clothes under age 2.

26/07/2024

Now we know you all recognise this face! Our very own wonderful Jo, who donates her time every month to welcome you all on our door at our monthly swap sessions. Here she is modelling her latest swap outfitπŸ˜€

21/07/2024

Did you know that we have a huge stock of men's, women's and children's (age 2+) clothes available to swap!
Open on the first Saturday of every month!
Based at Acomb Parish Church hall from 9.30-12noon and just a Β£1 entry fee What better way to refreshed your whole families wardrobe.
