Antiques and vintage pieces can add a touch of history and character, but figuring out how to ‘seamlessly blend them with your decor’ can be tricky.

The good news?… (and in the nicest way possible) who cares!

What matters to you may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you love it or it holds a great memory, there’s always a way to make it work.

We are forever mixing up where things are styled in our home, it’s a running joke amongst family and friends that our rooms never look the same twice.

We have a collection of French, British and Japanese antiques… with a few African spears, Indian carvings and some Nepalese slippers thrown in for good measure.

We all love that thrill of the hunt at a local brocante or flea market, but what piece has absolutely stopped you in your tracks lately?

For us (obviously we love a good confiture pot), but more often than not it’s those simple little pieces that spark a bit of joy ✨

Strictly Dancing Shoes…

It’s a tenuous link but we are going with it… who’s got your vote this year?

These beautifully rustic antique sandals date back to the early 19th century and originate from the Pakistan/Afghanistan border regions. They were hand carved and would have been worn during occasions of traditional dress and ceremonial events. Each of these were individually designed and are completely unique!

We’ve always loved these incredible Sake bottles!

Made of ceramic stoneware from the Meiji Period, they date back to the 1890's. The hand painted glazed calligraphy states the name of the Sake shop they would have originated from, and gives each one its own unique charm and character. Truly one of a kind!

We’ve been taking a little family time this week due to the dreaded nursery sick bugs and our wee boy needing to stay home for a few days - so thank you to those patiently waiting on their orders from the weekend. We will be back to it tomorrow so watch out for those happy post emails!!

Well, that’s it folks - our last virtual fair of the year is done and we wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all the support we received yesterday. You lot really are a super bunch.

Don’t worry though, we are not going anywhere! We will very much be out there truffling and sourcing treasures for you (if anyone saw our stories from yesterday… there’s no stopping Mr KQ anytime soon!) We will still be posting smaller collections of our own each week, so watch this space!!

This elegant piece of glassware was made for the Franco British Exhibition held in London during 1908, to celebrate the L'Entente Cordiale signed in 1904. We adore the delicate detailing to this piece, a beautiful collectors item.

The countdown is on for this Sunday’s Artisan Vintage Market. Join us along with some wonderful other sellers from 10am for some fantastic pre-Christmas shopping!

We only have one more month to go until the newest arrival of team KQ makes an appearance - we can’t quite believe how quickly the time has gone and we have you all to thank for keeping us so busy these past 8 months!

As such we will be taking a little break from the wonderful virtual fairs we have been so lucky to be a part of this year and going back to basics of our own mini collections, like tonight’s selection which is all now available to shop over on our website.
