Our sincere apologies for many absences recently.
We got ill - too sick to work.
Which is really frustrating, because we never want to disappoint our lovely customers.
And, we've found loads of excellent new designs, prepped stock and displays in every way.
But, we are forced to stay away from active trading until we recover fully.
We will keep updating our planned opening times and dates on the contact pages of our websites.
Any last-minute changes to our working schedule are posted on those pages.
So, the very best plan is to have a quick double-check of that information on the morning of the day that you are planning to visit - if you want to make sure that we are trading.

📢The Shambles will re-open to pedestrians earlier than planned, with one footway opening later this afternoon.

At Goodramgate, the junction will also reopen today, though work will continue, extending restrictions each weekday to 7pm, and on Saturdays (10:30 – 16:00).

Many thanks to The York BID for providing 12 x £25 York Gift Card for some of the Shambles businesses to give away over the next few weeks. These have been supplied in support of the disruption that is being caused during the installation of security bollards at the bottom of the street. The first Shambles winners were presented with their prize in Little Saffrons.

Despite work taking place at the Pavement (M & S) end of the Shambles, businesses are open as usual. You can enter the Shambles via the market, the passageway behind St Crux church via Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate, or from King's Square at the top end.
