Repost from It is with heartfelt emotion that we share the passing of our esteemed founder, Trevor Sorbie MBE. Trevor passed away peacefully with his family and beloved dog by his side. Trevor’s journey, marked by unparalleled creativity and kindness, has left an indelible mark on the world of hairdressing and beyond.
From pioneering The Wedge five decades ago to establishing our first salon in 1979, Trevor’s vision set new standards and continues to inspire generations. As we commemorate 45 years of Trevor Sorbie salons, we remain steadfast in upholding the passion, artistry, and dedication that he embodied.
Trevor often reminded us to “be bold, be different, but always do everything in good taste.” His ethos of kindness, care, and excellence continues to guide us. He expressed immense pride in our team and confidence in our commitment to carrying forward his legacy.
Honouring Trevor’s wishes, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to support four charities: Marie Curie, Cancer Research UK, Rowans Hospice and My New Hair, all close to his heart. We also plan to celebrate his remarkable life and contributions with a special event next year and will share details in due course.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community and for your continued support as we honour Trevor’s legacy.

Our Creative Director Sarah Cotton is a FINALIST in The British Hairdressing Awards!!!


4 photographic images were entered for the prestigious competition now another 4 will go forward to the Final judging stage making a collection of 8 images that will be shown in all their glory in London along with all the other finalists. Then the winners will be announced at an incredible Grand final event in November! This really is AMAZING news! We are so happy and proud to be part of this iconic competition. SUP challenge for River Action Help daniel fitzpatrick raise money to support River Action

🎉 Help fund the Bishopthorpe Road community street party on Sunday 9th June 2024. 🎉

Over the past 12 years the Bishopthorpe road summer street parties have always been an amazing, vibrant community event and we want 2024 to be bigger and better than ever, however we need your help. 
The basic costs to put on a street party have rocketed over the past few years and whilst the traders on the street each contribute to the street party we just don’t have enough to cover all of the costs.  The basic costs of the street party are around £3500-£4000 to cover traffic diversions, signage, insurance, toilets, first aid, council fees and security. 
We also need around another £3000 to allow us to confirm the New York Brass band as well as many others bands, entertainers, children’s activities, as well as a stage, PA system, seating etc. 
As traders we will work hard to raise the basic costs of the street party through corporate sponsorship and individual contributions but we need your help to fund the remaining £3000 so we can book in the live entertainment and much more. If you are able to contribute as an individual, a family or business we would be so grateful as we want this party to be an enjoyable experience for all.

Hi I’m Lindsay,
I’m an Advanced Stylist at York.
I worked for Toni & Guy in Harrogate where I progressed to Artistic Director.
After 10 years with T&G I decided to go self employed and worked in various salons around Harrogate for a number of years before taking a break to focus on family and home life.
Hairdressing has always been my passion and I’m excited to be back doing what I love most.
I’m looking forward to seeing some new and old clients and giving them the transformations they dream of!
