We don't think we could have got any more in the van this time! An epic delivery run from 9am-5pm all over York. Many thanks to our volunteers and especially Ali (shown in the picture) on his first delivery run.

Amazing what difference a group of people can make in an evening.
Huge thanks to the house group from York Community Church who gave their time - even when England were playing! - so that the resident can now use her garden. She's rightfully thrilled.

An enormous thankyou to the Belfrey Discipleship Year interns who recently spent a day painting a flat for a Besom recipient. They had such a great time that they stayed longer than they'd planned, and the recipient was thrilled with what they'd done.

Acomb Methodist Church kindly sent us a video of Beckyβs talk at their church. Sheβs now on maternity leave but the Besom In York continues as usual, collecting donations from givers and matching them with those in need, and doing projects with teams from many churches. Andrew and Rob went out on the van again yesterday, which included moving this washing machine into it's new home - a first floor flat π Well done team!
Thank you to everyone who gave their furniture yesterday and for making such as huge difference to those in need in our city.
Huge thank you to the wonderful Collective Church who spent another Sunday moving waste to the tip for some recipients in Acomb and making baby bundles for Bundles of Joy York. Such a selfless and loving thing to do for those in need.

Another fab van run today with Rob, Andrew and Becky. 4 sofas, 3 mattresses, 2 tip trips and 1 bed base!
A busy but brilliant van run yesterday. Big thanks to Rob and Andrew who gave their time. We collected and delivered - two shelving units, a bathroom cabinet, two desks, two hoover, a microwave bedding, a toddler bed, a cot bed, a moses basket, a double mattress, a home pack and a single bed, a single mattress, a bed rail, a clothes horse and a wardrobe!! We're so grateful to be able to help people give so generously to those in need in our city.
Grateful for this fab bunch from who gave their afternoon to shift rubbish to the tip for three recipients. Thank you team, you smashed it πͺ
Excited to have been invited to speak at two local churches in the not too distant future! We are always up for spreading the word about Besom and how you can give through us to make a difference to your local community!
So encouraged by Collective Church who instead of a regular Sunday service, spent their time making and delivering bundles for Bundles of Joy York AND helped a local family move some waste to the tip in our van. Our Story
The Besom in York began on 25th Feb 2007. The Besom exists to help build a bridge between those who want to give and those in need. We help people give time, money, gifts and items to those most in need in our city.

Bundles of Joy is our sister project who work closely with us but with a focus on helping people give baby related items to parents in need. You can find more info on their page @bundlesofjoyyork
The Besom is a christian charity and our faith is at the heart of everything we do. We see God do incredible things at Besom, week in week out.
