Calvary Chapel Bible College Eurasia

Tuesday morning our staff and students here at CCBCE sitting together with various special guests sharing what the Lord has taught them about evangelism and discipline in perspective of cultures and peoples around the globe 🌏. In the past month we’ve had speakers share from their experiences in Mexico, Peru, Columbia, and several locations in the Middle East. Such a joy to welcome some of the directors of our sister CCBC campuses near and far.

Tbilisi and the Georgian culture is a whole world of colors, smells, sights, and sounds. On Monday afternoons our students explore and are equipped with tools to adapt to this new environment in our Scholastic and Cultural Adaptation class with Kendall Kula. Monday evenings they have the opportunity to explore language and history in the classroom as well. Last week they got to check out our local bazaar. God is working in this place, we’re so excited for it!

Started our first day of classes working out together and praying together. Thankful for a new semester. Thankful for a good God. Thankful for the gift of life.

Pastor Kurt Kula will be teaching our gospel of Matthew class this semester, his lovely wife Kendall will be teaching Cultural and Scholastic Adaptation. With over 20 years of missions experience as singles, married, and on the field with their four children our students have the joy of gleaning from their learned experiences through successes, and failures.

This summer they had the joy of meeting up with former students, intern, and staff members Neal Livingston, and his wife Anna, who have been a part of impacting generations for the glory of God here at CCBCE.

Just in case you were wondering what the neighborhood looks like around the dorms and classrooms here at CCBCE. We are so excited for our students to start arriving on Monday!! Let’s go

Bible college: That thing they did over 20 years ago not knowing how God would use it in their lives. What an amazing moment of thankfulness I was able to sit in on Saturday night as I listened to Jared, Mike, and Melodie dwell on those years they spent at CCBCE. Is God nudging you to step out? Are you feeling that tug to take God at His word in a way you never have before? We’re still accepting applications for fall 2024!

The joys of being a part of the rich heritage of CCBCE is that we have those dear to us now serving God in all corners of the globe. Kurt and Kendall Kula (one of our first graduates) were encouraged by their time with alumni, and previous staff members Megan Havelaar, and Hannah Stewart, as they met up at a conference last month in California ♥️. The fall semester is fast approaching and we’re so excited for you to be a part of our hearts and lives!

On Sunday we were blessed to talk with a student who attended CCBCE in 2002, the year before our own Jared Scheller attended as a student. What an encouraging exchange! CCBCE is a ministry that’s offered biblical training for over 30 years and our alumni are serving all over the globe. There’s still time to join us for our fall semester ♥️

This week our students are joining in with some other local students in a course called Arts for the Kingdom. What an incredible opportunity to grow in how to use the creativity God has put in us as the image bearers of a creative God.

Please pray with us for this weekend for our staff and students as they’re in Batumi, Georgia 🇬🇪 spending time with the city’s young adults. Batumi’s team of young adult leaders and our team of 20 young adults from Calvary Tbilisi will minister together.

Our friends in Batumi have been inviting people and this Saturday, is a city day so lots of youth will be out and about.

Please pray for safe travels, Holy Spirit power, unity, joy, and the Lord to build sweet relationships. May Jesus impact the hearts of the next generation!

From the team - We loved our time in Kyrgyzstan. 🇰🇬 Everyday our hearts overflowed with joy as we had the privilege to meet the most amazing people and get a glimpse of what the Lord is doing in that beautiful country. Please pray for lasting fruit. We are back at Calvary Chapel Bible College Eurasia in Tbilisi, Georgia. 🇬🇪 Pray for health and stamina for all. This Friday to Sunday, I will join a group of 15 young adults from Calvary Tbilisi who will connect with the youth at Calvary Batumi which is about a five-hour drive toward the coast. We’d be so grateful for your prayers for an amazing weekend! Safe travels and that we’d be a blessing and encouragement to all we meet.

They’re back!!!!! We had such a sweet time in our History of Missions class hearing from our team of staff and students we returned from Kyrgyzstan and Poland on Monday. Some of us may not have gone physically but we rejoiced as we heard how God moved through our prayers. Thank you to those who were praying with us. Now that we are all back together in Georgia our hearts to share the love of God wherever we are remains the same.

From Bible studies to landscaping the team was busy on Friday. Looking forward to hearing about all the Lord did when they get back on Monday!

Update from the team - We all rolled up our sleeves and enjoyed time together, digging out all the weeds as a few guys trimmed a very tall tree. All in preparation for landscaping Friday.

Please pray for safe travels tomorrow as we head back to the village to finish the project of sorting and preparing wood kindling bags that the orphanage guys will distribute to homes of those in need, along with coal for warmth.

After that sweet fellowship, we will go to the nearby mountains to pray before heading back to Bishkek. In the evening, I’ll teach Philippians to the mom’s group. It’s going to be a great day

Pray for protection and stamina, continued unity, and God to be glorified in all. Thanks so much! God is so good.

Great day in the village. This winter the adult boys orphanage delivered one ton of coal (25 bags per home) to over 300 families in need. Along with a bag of starter wood kindling. Today we were able to prepare lots and lots of bags of starter kindling for their next deliveries. We had sweet fellowship and Bible study. And dinner roasted on the fire.

Sunny day with the team from Monday. They enjoyed a rich time learning history and touring the city with some young adults.

Please pray for their time in the mountains. And they’d be a blessing at the home for young men that are aging out of orphanages. They will serve at their transitional facility which teaches them farming and practical life skills.

Sweet day on Saturday for the team building friendships. Such love and laughter, iron sharpening iron. Such an encouraging day. Please pray we’d be a huge blessing and for everyone’s health and stamina. Thank you so much.

There’s no way to capture the privilege and joy that was felt in this moment. We here at CCBCE have some tough days when doing what’s right and pouring into our students is really hard and challenging because we are all imperfect people. I’m sure as a staff we all would say that the sweet moments far outweigh the challenging ones like holding a child for the first time after birth. Congratulations on your ordination yesterday Pastor Cysco and your beautiful wife!!!! We had the joy of seeing just a small part of God working in these two while they were students and Carissa served on staff. What a joy it is to pray for our students wherever the Lord takes them. Even Texas!!! I’m so thankful that even sick at home in Georgia 🇬🇪 we could still join in the celebration

I cannot say enough how sweet it is to spend time with people who have known my husband longer than me (Hannah Scheller here). It gives me a glimpse into his life that I wouldn’t have otherwise from the perspective of others. These two have known each other since Jared was a student at CCBCE. It was sweet having you visit for the week Bill!! We love having people from the past 30+ years drop in for a hello. We are so encouraged!

Working through Romans chapter 8 this week.

CCBCE is a place where we come from all different walks of life and work out our faith together. Where our staff have seen God work as they’ve served years in Ukraine, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Cambodia, Poland, and lead outreaches to numerous other nations.
