Important Announcement: TEDxCantoments Conference Update.

It is with a heavy heart that we, the TEDxCantoments organizing team, announce the cancellation of the highly anticipated TEDx event, originally slated for 1st August 2023. To all our stakeholders, including speakers, attendees, sponsors, and partners, we offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this decision may cause.

In our pursuit of excellence, we encountered unforeseen technical difficulties that have significantly impacted our ability to deliver the TEDx experience that our attendees and speakers deserve. As TEDx organizers, we hold ourselves to the highest standards and believe in delivering an outstanding experience to our community. Due to these technical challenges, we are left with no choice but to postpone the event until further notice.

We believe in the power of ideas to shape communities, and we want to ensure that every speaker’s voice is heard clearly and effectively. We understand the disappointment this news may bring, especially to our incredible speakers who have worked tirelessly to craft their talks. Please know that this decision was not taken lightly, and our team is diligently working to resolve these issues and find a suitable alternative date for the event.

We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support we have received from our speakers, partners, and the entire community. As we work to resolve these technical challenges, we will keep you updated about any further developments through our official communication channels. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Announcing Our Selected Team Leads for the TEDxCantonment 2023 Volunteer Program. These team leads will be responsible for guiding their respective teams throughout the program and helping them achieve their volunteer goals. We believe that the selected team leads have the necessary skills and experience to create a positive learning environment for their teams. We also express gratitude to all those who applied to be a volunteer but were not selected due to the minimum quota not being met, and acknowledge the high level of interest and enthusiasm shown by all applicants.

The Young Entrepreneurship Award does not only gives us exposure but also leverage. Organizations like the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) is very formidable when it comes to gaining access to the top companies in Ghana. An access, which could turn the tides for us as a Community.

It was such a nice experience when our CEO in the person of Emmanuel A. Siaw shared the stage with noble personalities like Prof. Justice Bawole, Kojo Soboh, Bernard K. Gyimah, Martin Kwame Awagah 🇬🇭🌍 and Olufemi Adewumi at the just ended finance and investment summit in collaboration with the University of Ghana Business School | UGBS. The summit was focused on the perspective of viewing one's career as an investment vehicle.

Building a career is one of the most critical elements of success in one's life and this has been proven over the centuries. It's a better mindset to that of looking for a job that pays well. It positions your mind to rather go in for the experience rather than the money. It's a long term view of becoming who you really want to be and what you want the world to remember you for. Sadly, our present educational system does the otherwise, thus preparing people for jobs rather than for life.

In order to fill up the gaps in the system, initiatives like the Inspiring Greatness Forum by EMY Africa and Preneurship - a platform helping companies find talents through unique forms of mentorships, internships and volunteering programs were made available to the students.

Overall, the program saw over 500 participants and the feedback was immensely good. We couldn't have done this without Ernest Owusu Fokuo, Robert Baah-Halm, Asante Bernard, Joeline Sampongmaa, Alice Gyimah, Rodney Alger, Stephanie Appiah, Innocent, Andrew, Kelly (the team).

Having the support of phenomenal persons like Obed Obeng-Addae (PhD), George Odamtten (Prof), George Adjebeng, we believe we can harness the hidden potentials within our community.
