Cataract removal is a common surgical procedure to treat cataracts, which are clouding of the lens in the eye, leading to blurred vision. During the procedure, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens called an intraocular lens (IOL). It’s typically done on an outpatient basis and is highly effective in restoring vision. Various techniques such as phacoemulsification and laser-assisted cataract surgery are used, with minimal discomfort and a quick recovery time for most patients. However, it’s crucial to consult with an ophthalmologist to determine the most suitable approach for your specific condition.
